Seed Health Unit Awareness Week

IRRI Seed Health and Logistics Unit (SHU) holds an Open House tour around the SHU Laboratory, Quarantine Area, and Seed Treatment Facility to raise awareness among IRRI staff on the group's facilities and processes in securing the exchange of seeds and other biomaterials.

Join the SHU team on November 30, 1-4 PM, as invited keynote speakers from the Bureau of Plant Industry National Plant Quarantine Services Division and Central Post-Entry Quarantine Services share some of the science and rationale behind the regulatory and quarantine measures for safe and efficient trade of plant materials.

You may also register for SHU’s open house activity until 30 November. The program for these tours will be customized to target either research or non-research attendees so choose the best slot according to your preference.

Convened by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) every four years, the Congress brings together scientists, experts, and decision makers from the government, private, and public sectors to formulate evidence-based solutions to some of the biggest challenges of the global rice sector.

Previous IRC editions were held in Beijing (2002), New Delhi (2006), Hanoi (2010), Bangkok (2014), and Singapore (2018). This 2023, IRC will be held for the first time in the Philippines, the home country of IRRI Headquarters.
