The UP Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) invites graduate-offering units to integrate their long-term research, creative work, and innovation programs into the Collective Mentorship Program (CMP) ecosystem.

The College of Arts and Sciences joins the celebration of Pride Month, honoring the gains from the struggle of the LGBTQIA+ community for gender rights and welfare, embracing inclusivity, and continuing the fight for equality.

🇵🇭 Nakikiisa ang Kolehiyo ng Agham at Sining sa paggunita ng ika-128 taon ng ating kasarinlan.

Kinikilala natin ang mga bayani ng ating lahi na nagbuwis ng kanilang buhay para makamit ang ating kalayaan.

Nawa’y ipagpatuloy natin ang pagtatanggol sa kalayaan ng ating bansa, gayundin sa kalayaan ng mga mamamayan. Isabuhay natin ang kaisipang mapagpalaya, makatao at makabayan!

⚛ CAS welcomes Pisay students for Science Immersion Program

On Monday, 8 June, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) welcomed students from the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) Calabarzon who will participate in the Science Immersion Program from 8 to 26 June. Mentors from various labs and programs under CAS were also present to welcome and meet their mentees.

This is the fourth year of partnership between PSHS Calabarzon and UPLB CAS for the SIP.🔬

On June 4-5, CAS faculty members who are part of the UPLB General Education Council attended the UP System General Education Conference at UP Diliman.

With the theme, "Pagtanaw sa KaaGE: Through the Years," the GE faculty from various constituent universities presented papers related to teaching GE.

At the end of the conference, the UP System GE Council adopted a statement rejecting CHED's proposed Reframed GE.

An open forum with Vice President for Academic Affairs Lorraine Pe Symaco was also held where issues on the need to discuss the philosophy of GE, AI policy, protection of faculty members and students from red-tagging, need for more plantilla items, among others were discussed.

✨ Congratulations to the Institute of Biological Sciences - Microbiology Division for bringing honor to UPLB as the 2nd Top Performing School in the 2026 Certification Exam for Microbiologists!

The University of the Philippines Los Baños was recognized as the 2nd Top Performing School (82.26%) in the 2026 Certification Exam for Microbiologists administered by the Philippine Academy of Microbiology, Inc. during the oathtaking ceremony held on 30 May 2026 at SMX Convention Center Aura, Taguig City.

The award was received on behalf of the university by Prof. Chrysline Margus N. Piñol, Dean of College of Arts and Sciences, together with Prof. Maria Genaleen Q. Diaz, Institute of Biological Sciences Director, and Prof. Noel G. Sabino, Head of the Microbiology Division.

This recognition reflects the university's commitment to academic excellence and the collective efforts of its students, faculty, and staff.

The theme underscores the importance of fostering stronger institutional connections and cultivating a unified direction in addressing the evolving demands of higher education.

Anchored on this shared commitment, the Conference serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue on instruction, research and extension, public service, and administrative practices. It likewise seeks to examine emerging educational trends, review institutional policies, and formulate strategic directions that will guide CAS toward a more responsive, innovative, and future-ready academic unit.
