Following our post on the Faculty Research Grant under the Faculty Development Program (FDP), the Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) shares another faculty support initiative available to its consortium universities, including the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology–University of the Philippines Los Baños (CEAT-UPLB).
One of these initiatives is the 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 (FRDG), which provides financial assistance to eligible faculty members for presenting research at international conferences or publishing in reputable scientific journals. This grant aims to foster global research collaboration, enhance research visibility, and promote the dissemination of ERDT-supported research outputs.
Through the FRDG, faculty members may receive support for conference participation, travel-related expenses, and journal publication fees, helping reduce financial barriers to research dissemination and increasing international academic engagement.
Faculty members who serve as thesis or dissertation advisers of ERDT scholars and are actively involved in research publication or presentation are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this opportunity as part of their academic and research planning.

The Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) is a graduate scholarship program supported by the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI). It is aimed at contributing to the creation of a critical mass of research scientists and engineers who possess master’s and doctoral degrees.
Beyond providing local graduate scholarship, ERDT also extends support to faculty members of its consortium universities, including the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology–University of the Philippines Los Baños (CEAT-UPLB). This support is implemented through the Faculty Development Program (FDP), which offers four faculty support initiatives. One of these is the Faculty Research Grant (FRG).
The 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 provides financial assistance to eligible faculty members who are enrolled in ERDT-supported graduate or accelerated programs. It supports activities related to the completion and successful defense of a thesis or dissertation, thereby helping faculty members complete their graduate studies in a timely manner and strengthen their research outputs.
Faculty members who are currently enrolled in, or are planning to pursue, ERDT-supported graduate programs are encouraged to familiarize themselves with this opportunity as part of their academic and research planning. Early awareness of this grant may help in preparing for future participation in ERDT’s faculty development initiatives.
