𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧 is the kind of person who gets excited over cute stickers, pretty stationery, and anything green 💚. She can turn a blank journal page into a masterpiece with her calligraphy and creativity. She’s also a dinosaur enthusiast who loves and collects all things dino.

She loves her cutesy dresses, her makeup, and all things pretty, but what makes her truly beautiful is how kind and thoughtful she is. Despite being an introvert, she has a way of making everyone feel seen, appreciated, and loved. She’s caring, empathetic, and always down for anything, whether it’s a spontaneous food trip, a long walk, or simply hanging out. Because for her, the best part of any plan is spending time with the people she loves.

𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Ngayong ika-12 ng Hunyo, ginugunita ang Araw ng Kalayaan bilang pagpupugay sa tapang at sakripisyo ng mga Pilipinong lumaban para sa pagpapalaya ng bansa mula sa kolonyal na paghahari. Subalit higit pa sa paggunita sa nakaraan, ang araw na ito ay paggunita sa nakaraan, ang araw na ito ay paalala na ang kalayaan ay hindi lamang idinedeklara– ito ay patuloy na ipinaglalaban.

Sa kabila ng mahigit isang siglong paglaya mula sa kolonyalismong Espanyol, nananatiling nakatali ang Pilipinas sa iba’t ibang anyo ng dayuhang dominasyon, pang-ekonomiyang pagdepende, at mga patakarang pumapabor sa interes ng iilan. Habang patuloy na tumataas ang presyo ng langis at mga batayang bilihin, nananatiling mababa ang sahod, laganap ang kontraktwalisayon, at lumalalim ang kahirapan sa hanay ng mga manggagawa, magsasaka, mangingisda, at iba pang marhinalisadong sektor.

Bilang mga estudyante at siyentista ng bayan, kinikilala namin na ang tunay na kalayaan ay hindi lamang kawalan ng dayuhang mananakop. Ang tunay na kalayaan ay ang pagkakaroon ng sapat na pagkain sa hapag, disenteng trabaho at sahod, abot-kayang edukasyon, makataong serbisyong pangkalusugan, at karapatang mamuhay nang may dignidad. Hindi malaya ang isang bayan kung milyon-milyong mamamayan ang patuloy na naghihirap at pinagkakaitan ng kanilag mga batayang karapatan.

Mariin din naming kinukundena ang patuloy na panunupil sa mga mamamayang nagsusulong ng pagbabago. Ang red-tagging, harassment, sapilitang pagkawala, iligal na pag-aresto, at iba pang paglabag sa karapatang pantao ay mga banta sa demokrasya at kalayaan na matagal nang ipinaglaban ng sambayanan. Ang pag-oorganisa, pagtindig, at pagpapahayag ng saloobin ay hindi krimen–ito ay bahagi ng demokratikong karapatan ng mamamayan.

Sa gitna ng lumalalang krisis sa ekonomiya, lumalawak na agwat ng mayaman at mahirap, at mga banta sa pambansang soberanya, nananawagan ang UP Cell Biological Society sa kabataan na maging mapanuri, makialam, at makiisa sa mga laban ng sambayanan. Ang paggunita sa Araw ng Kalayaan ay dapat magsilbing hamon upang ipagpatuloy ang adhikaing itaguyod ag isang lipupnang tunay na malaya, makatarungan, at makatao.

Ang diwa ng Hunyo 12 ay hindi natatapos sa mga seremonya at pagwawagayway ng watawat. Ito ay buhay sa bawat mamamayang tumitindig laban sa pang-aapi, lumalaban para sa karapatan, at kumikilos para sa kinabukasan ng bayan.

If you ask people, sasabihin nila na ang first impression nila kay Jarie ay isa siyang mahinhin na ferson. 🫢 She’s like the silent type, pero once na you get to know her, you’ll realize na she can be just as loud. Marami siyang baon na kwento, to the point na ‘di ka magsasawa. 🤗 Very very kalog din siya, and you’ll definitely find her presence a source of happiness. ✨️

As a certified hopeless romantic, Jarie loves watching romantic series and movies. 💘 Pero do you know na mahilig din siya kay Kuromi? Oo totoo ‘yon. 🦇 Katulad ni Kuromi na laging hinihingian ng tulong, Jarie is also very sweet, caring, and considerate to the people around her. She also likes F1, 🏁 as well as a certified matcha enjoyer. 🍵 Lastly, she likes Niki’s music. Perfect talaga sa kanyang romantic personality. 💕

As what her inaanak says, “Nang, you are really one of those rare people who make others feel seen, valued, and cared for without even trying. I hope life gives back all the kindness, happiness, and love that you so freely give to everyone around you. Love you!” 💖✨️

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Nakikiisa ang UP Cell Biological Society sa paggunita ng Pride Month bilang pagkilala sa patuloy na pakikibaka ng mga kasapi ng komunidad ng LGBTQIA+ para sa pagkakapantay-pantay, pagkilala, at paggalang sa kanilang mga karappatan at dignidad.

Ang Pride ay higit pa sa pagdiriwang ng pagkakaiba-iba ng kasarian at sekswalidad. Ito ay pag-alala sa mahabang kasaysayan ng paglaban sa diskriminasyon, karahasan, at sistematikong pagkitil sa mga batayang karapatan ng mga LGBTQIA+ na indibidwal. Sa kabila ng mga pag-unlad sa usapin ng representasyon at pagtanggap, marami pa rin ang nakararanas ng panghuhusga, pang-aabuso, red-tagging, at iba pang anyo ng panunupil sa mga tahanan, paaralan, komunidad, at lugar ng trabaho.

Bilang mga estudyante at siyentista ng bayan, kinikilala namin na ang agham ay dapat magsilbi sa pagpapalawak ng pag-unawa at pagsusulong ng pagkakapantay-pantay. Hindi dapat gamitin ang kaalaman upang bigyang-katwiran ang diskriminasyon, kundi upang itaguyod ang isang lipunang nakabatay sa paggalang sa karapatang pantao at pagkilala sa pagkakaiba-iba ng karanasan ng tao.

Naniniwala ang UP Cell Biological Society na ang tunay na inklusibing lipunan ay hindi lamang tumatanggap, kundi aktibong lumalaban sa lahat ng anyo ng pang-aapi at pagtatangi. Hindi maaring ihiwalay ang laban ng LGBTIQIA+ na komunidad sa mas malawak na pakikibaka ng mamamayan para sa hustisyang panlipunan, disenteng pamumuhay, at kalayaan mula sa takot at diskriminasyon.

Sa buwang ito ng Pride, muli naming ipinapanawagan ang pagsusulong ng mga polisiyang nagtatanggol sa karapatan ng LGBTQIA+ na komunidad, kabilang ang pagpasa ng mga hakbang laban sa diskriminasyon at ang paglikha ng mga ligtas at inklusibong espasyo sa mga institusyong pang-edukasyon at sa lipunan.
Kasama namin ang LGBTQIA+ na komunidad hindi lamang tuwing Hunyo, kundi sa araw-araw na laban para sa pagkakapantay-pantay at pagkilala sa kanilang pagkatao.

When you first meet Claire, unang mapapansin mo talaga sa kanya ay ang lively energy niya. ☀️ She feels like she leaves a trail of light behind her, alongside sa kanyang very warm na presence. You will also notice na she's very very sweet, and sobrang easy to make friends with. 💗 Her bright and sweet personality is also coupled with her cuteness, na para bang siya ang ultimate soft girl. 🎀

Claire is also very dependable and reliable. Sobrang responsible, hardworking, and maaasahan din niya. Oh 'di ba? Super duper greenflag. 🌿 Alam niyo rin ba na isa siyang yearner pro max? As in. She's the ultimate lover girl. 🥰🩵

Much like her cute personality, she also likes cute stuffs. 🧸 Pero mahilig din siya sa horror, na para bang I have two sides sa kanyang very baby girl personality. 👻 OG matcha liker din siya, walang halong performativeness. 🍵

The tides carried us on a journey toward 𝓪𝓬𝓬𝓮𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓫𝓵𝓮 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓽𝓱𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 and brought us back with meaningful connections, shared learning, and a strengthened commitment to serve. 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 embodied the true spirit of 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝓅𝒶𝓈𝓈𝒾𝑜𝓃 and 𝓈𝑒𝓇𝓋𝒾𝒸𝑒 through one of the organization’s most meaningful advocacies. 🩵🩺

Last 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭, in coordination with the Barangay Office, free healthcare services were successfully provided to the community—bridging healthcare access, fostering trust with residents, and creating lasting impact through collective effort and care.⚕️💙
