𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗽𝘆𝗼 𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗽.

Sa paggunita sa kabayanihan ni Rizal, naaalala natin na may mga rebolusyong hindi kinakasangkapan ng espada, kundi ng salita. Mga ideyang kayang yumanig sa lipunang natutulog sa kawalan ng katarungan; mga tanong na kayang magpabukas ng isip sa panahong sinisikil ang kritikal na pag-iisip.

Ngayon, habang lumalaganap ang disimpormasyon, habang umuunti ang espasyo para sa makatotohanang diskurso, at habang patuloy na naiiwan ang mamamayan sa ilalim ng mga patakarang kulang sa malasakit, mas nabibigyang-diin ang halimbawa ni Rizal. Hindi niya ginamit ang talino para mangibabaw—ginamit niya ito para magpamulat. Hindi niya inalay ang buhay para sa kapangyarihan—inihandog niya ito para sa kalayaan.

Bilang mga Iskolar ng Bayan, nawa’y dalhin natin ang ganitong uri ng tapang: tapang na magtanong, tapang na umunawa, tapang na maging mulat. Sapagkat minsan, ang pinakamalakas na paglaban ay nagsisimula sa tahimik pero matalinong pagharap sa katotohanan.

Sa araw na ito, ating gunitain si Rizal hindi lamang bilang bayani, kundi bilang paalala:
ang pagbabago ay maaaring tahimik, ngunit hindi kailanma’y dapat hiwalay sa katotohanan.

Sa ika-162 na kaarawan ng ating bayaning si Andres Bonifacio, ating gunitain ang tapang ng isang lider na hindi nag-atubiling hamunin ang kawalan ng katarungan. Hindi siya naghintay ng pagkakataon; siya mismo ang lumikha nito.

Ngayon, sa gitna ng patuloy na korapsyon, kawalang-hustisya, at paghina ng serbisyong dapat ay para sa mamamayan, mas kailangan natin ng kanyang katapangan. Hindi tayo dapat magbulag-bulagan. Hindi tayo puwedeng manatiling tahimik habang lumalabo ang kinabukasang nararapat para sa bayan at kabataan.

Bilang mga iskolar ng bayan, may pananagutan tayong magmulat, magsalita, at kumilos para sa dekalidad na edukasyon, pantay na oportunidad, at sistemang tunay na nagsisilbi sa tao.

Isabuhay natin ang diwa ni Bonifacio–tapang na hindi nagtatago, hindi sumusuko, at hindi pumapayag na apihin ang bayan. Tapang na may prinsipyo. Tapang na may malasakit. Tapang na handang tumindig at ipaglaban ang karapatan ng sambayanan.
