The Parliament: UPLB Debate Society is the official debate organization of the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Since its recognition in 2003, The Parliament has been continuously pursuing excellence as the only debate organization in UPLB, attaining exemplary accomplishments by excelling in debate tournaments inside and outside the country.

❤️ 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆! 💚

🏛️ The Parliament congratulates its contingent for their wonderful performance in this year's installment of the Makiling Debate Open—a tournament successfully hosted by our very own members, aimed at preparing Filipino debaters for the upcoming Asian Majors.

🎤 Miko del Rosario, Ken Singson, and Parish Santico reached the summit of Makiling, ending their run at the Open Grand Final. Ken was awarded as the 5th Best Open Speaker, while Miko emerged as the highest-ranking UPLB speaker, claiming 4th Best Speaker of the tournament

🎤 Rsean Gueco and Erin Lancin, partnered with esteemed alumnus CJ Salayo, ended their run at the Open Semifinals, bowing out to the eventual champions. CJ proved he still has it, earning 6th Best Open Speaker honors

🎤 Loi Rolloque, Issa Alvarez, and Jill Panopio, preparing for PIDC, narrowly missed the break as the 2nd Open Reserve Breaking Team; a close but promising finish

✏️ Alexi Cariaga, Louise Wee, and Michel Macahilo all judged the Novice outrounds series, bringing wit and excellence to the Novice Final, with Michel presiding as Chair

✏️ Tobit Sanchez, one of our newest recruits, also broke as an adjudicator, judging the Novice Semifinals in his continued rise through the ranks

⚖️ Lia Denise Tan served as part of the Core Adjudication Panel, chaired the Open Quarterfinals, and judged the Novice Final, a true all-around contribution to the tournament's success

🏛️ The Parliament acknowledges another outstanding performance of one of our very active adjudicators, Marvhie Binwag, for her participation in the recent South Asia Junior WSDC hosted by UFD Education, last May 2-3

✏️ Marvhie Binwag served as one of the tournament's Invited Adjudicators. Her expertise earned her a spot on the panel for the highly competitive U13 Semifinals

✊ With her unwavering passion, unbreakable consistency, and impeccable wits, she sets a high standard for excellence both as a speaker and a judge. Her dedication improves the quality of debate and inspires everyone around her to do their best

🏆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐏 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐓 𝐏𝐈𝐃𝐂 🏆

🇵🇭 The Parliament concludes three long days of intense clashes from the brightest institutions of the Philippine debate circuit in the Philippine Intercollegiate Debating Championship (PIDC) last June 11-14, hosted online by the University of the Philippines Debate Society. UPLB finishes the game with heads up high as seasoned debaters break into the rounds and the contingent does their utmost best within their tournament stint.

🎙️ UPLB A, composed of Kyle Bensali, Miro Fortuna, and Vince Hubilla, broke as the 20th Ranked Team of the Philippines with 4 team points and 1915.75 speaks and finished their strong run in the National Octofinals. In addition, Kyle was awarded as the tournament’s 4th Best Reply Speaker.

🎙️UPLB B composed of Miko Geanne del Rosario, Ken Singson, and the newest senior, Parish Santico broke as the 12th Ranked Team of the Philippines with 5 team points and 1894.42 speaks and was able to conclude their exceptional performance in the tournament’s National Octofinals.

⚖️ Lia Denise Tan one of the known figures in the circuit, concludes her nationals career stint as one of the honored Core Adjudication Panel for PIDC ‘26 and one of the panels for the National Grand Final. Her contribution in the tournament in motion-making and ensuring fairness in the process meant to uphold the standards of the Philippine majors.

🤍 We applaud the individual and collective efforts of the debaters and adjudicators during training, prep tournaments, and especially the recently concluded PIDC. Your grit and determination will be the foundation to coming back stronger in the upcoming BP season.

✊ Truly one of the more runs to come, as the AP season concludes, the organization thanks the efforts its fellow resident members and alumni for building camaraderie and each other’s skills, as well as the UPLB Office of Student Activities and the University of the Philippines Los Baños for their support. 🇵🇭 The Parliament is proud to present our breaking contingent at the Philippine Intercollegiate Debating Championship (PIDC) 2026, hosted online by the UP Debate Society.

✊After the intense seven high-pressure in-rounds, two teams from The Parliament will advance to the even more intense out-rounds, which will be held tomorrow.

🎤 UPLB B, composed of Miko Geanne del Rosario, Ken Singson, and Parish Santico broke, broke as the 12th Breaking Team with 5 team points and 1894.42 speaks.

🎤 UPLB A, composed of Kyle Bensali, Miro Fortuna, and Vince Hubilla, broke as the 20th Breaking Team with 4 team points and 1915.75 speaks.

Ultimately, the organization applauds the efforts of the whole PIDC contingent within the rounds, bearing the name of UPLB, for giving their utmost best throughout their run in the tournament.

🤍 The Parliament will be on full support as the outrounds of the tournament continue tomorrow. Break a leg! There is nowhere to go but up!

🏛️After the series of prep tournaments and training, the stage is once again set for the most prestigious Asian Parliamentary tournament in the whole country—the Philippine Intercollegiate Debating Championship (PIDC) this June 11-14 hosted by University of the Philippines Debate Society. The Parliament’s contingents will face head on against the country’s sharpest minds under the pressure of time, exchanging the intricate arguments and adjudication. Seasoned debaters and judges will once again showcase their meticulous prowess and rising names in hope to make a name in the Philippine debate circuit.

✊The whole organization will be on the watch, fully supporting within the rounds of the tournament!

🇵🇭 The Parliament is proud to present its contingent’s achievements in the United Asian Debating Championships (UADC) 2026, Asia’s largest and most prestigious Asian Parliamentary debate tournament, hosted on-site in Bali, Indonesia by EduDrift in partnership with Universitas Prasetiya Mulya.

🏅 UPLB achieved a remarkable full judge break, with all four members of its adjudicating contingent advancing to the out-rounds.

✏️ Lia Denise Tan sets a new benchmark once again by earning the distinction of 10th Best Judge of Asia. Her achievement marks one of UPLB's strongest adjudication performances in recent history and stands as a testament to the excellence, dedication, and rigor that continue to define the organization on the international stage.

✏️ Equally remarkable is that Miko Geanne Del Rosario, Ken Singson, and Zali Sadueste achieved adjudicator breaks in their very first UADC as adjudicators, showcasing not only their talent and preparation, but also the high standards they upheld in judging every round of the tournament.

✊ These achievements reflect years of mentorship, hard work, and commitment from our members, alumni, and coaches. More than personal milestones, these achievements are also a testament to the strength of Philippine debating on the international stage, and signal a bright future for The Parliament on the Asian circuit.

✊🏽 After 8 preliminary rounds, members of The Parliament have advanced to the elimination rounds of Asia's largest Asian Parliamentary debating championship.

⚖️ UPLB achieves a full judge break, with Lia Denise Tan, Miko Del Rosario, Ken Singson, and Zali Sadueste proceeding to the outrounds.

Their achievement reflects the excellence, rigor, and dedication that UPLB continues to bring to the international debating scene.

🏛️ The Parliament concludes its UADC prep season at the Dialectica Pre-UADC, hosted online by Dialectica on May 23–24 — the last major prep tournament before the real battle begins at the Bali United Asians Debating Championship 2026 this June!

🎤 Addie Macayan, Erin Lancin, and Rsean Gueco broke into the Open Octofinals as the 10th Breaking Team, with Erin Lancin capping off her impressive rookie season by claiming the title of Overall Best Novice Speaker of the tournament

✏️ Miko del Rosario served as an Invited Adjudicator, presiding over the Open Semifinals and Novice Semifinals with his characteristic sharpness

✏️ Lia Denise Tan also lent her expertise as an Invited Adjudicator, adding her voice to the tournament's high-level panels

🏛️ The Parliament congratulates its members for their impressive performances at the VIT Pre-UADC 2026, hosted online by the VIT Debate Society on May 16–17.

🎤 Issa Alvarez, Ranz Albor, and Loi Rolloque competed as a team, breaking as the 2nd Reserve Breaking Team, narrowly missing the outrounds but showcasing strong teamwork and potential

✏️ Miko del Rosario delivered an outstanding adjudication performance, serving as Open Grand Final Judge, Novice Final Chair, and Invited Adjudicator — ultimately earning the title of Best Invited Adjudicator of the tournament.

✏️ Ken Singson also contributed his sharp judging skills as Open Octofinals Judge and Novice Semifinals Chair, helping steer key elimination rounds.
