Crunchy, umami chicken for a cozy night in, perhaps? 😌

Let's make Hawaiian Fried Chicken, A.K.A. Mochiko Chicken! πŸ—

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 kilo chicken thigh fillet or breast fillet
ΒΌ cup Japanese soy sauce
3 tablespoons white sugar
Β½ teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon mirin
1 tablespoon grated garlic
1 teaspoon fresh ginger juice (squeezed from 1 tablespoon grated ginger)
1/3 cup glutinous rice flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup MAYA cornstarch
Cooking oil, for deep frying
Furikake Japanese rice seasoning flakes, for topping
Japanese mayonnaise, for topping
Chili Sauce, for topping
*This recipe makes 6-8 servings

LET'S MAKE IT! πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ³
First, cut up chicken fillet into chunks. Set aside.
οΏ½Next, prepare the marinade! πŸ₯£
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, salt, egg (beaten), mirin, garlic, ginger juice, glutinous rice flour, baking powder and MAYA Cornstarch.
Add chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well!οΏ½Cover bowl and marinate chicken in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
οΏ½To cook, heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Deep fry chicken pieces one at a time, until golden and crisp. Set chicken on a paper towel or colander to drain off excess oil.
οΏ½To serve, scoop rice in a bowl. Top with Hawaiian Fried Chicken and drizzle with Japanese mayonnaise and chili sauce, if desired. Finally, sprinkle with Furikake seasoning. Serve hot. ❀️‍πŸ”₯

A perfectly refreshing treat before the rainy season kicks in! β˜€οΈ

Let's make Guri Guri, A.K.A., Orange Sherbet! 🍊

INGREDIENTS:
ΒΌ cup MAYA Cornstarch
1 cup water
1 can condensed milk (around 377g)
1 bottle (500 ml) orange soda
1 can mandarin oranges (around 312g, or 11oz), drained and sliced into bits
Liquid from drained mandarin orange can
*This recipe makes 10-12 servings

LET'S MAKE IT! πŸ₯Ά
Combine the MAYA cornstarch with water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir gently with a whisk or spatula until thick, then set aside in a bowl.
Once slightly cooled, pour in condensed milk and orange soda, and stir gently until well blended.
Add sliced orange bits (you can reserve some to garnish with later!), and the drained liquid from canned mandarin oranges and mix well.
Pour this mixture into a 9x9 inch square baking pan, or any aluminum tray, and freeze it for at least 8 hours.

Serve your Guri Guri in any dessert glass or bowl, topped with orange slices! 🍨
