What does it mean to exercise democracy outside the usual visible definition and practice? How does democracy exist in a digital landscape? What digital infrastructures do we need to build and safeguard in order for our communities to thrive?
Karel Galang of Asia Democracy Network will provide us the current diagnosis of democracy in South East Asia. And our panelists, Ohyeron Kweon from Parti Social Cooperative (South Korea), Ken Abante from We Solve (Philippines), Vanesha Manuturi from Kota Kita (Indonesia) will work through these questions and more. The discussion will be moderated by Katrina Navarro of PHINMA Education (Philippines).
This will be on June 10, 2026, day 3 of DRAPAC (Digital Rights in Asia-Pacific). This is a major annual assembly and collaborative network that brings together human rights defenders, technologists, activists, journalists, and policymakers to advance digital rights, internet freedom, and digital safety across the region.
