The theory explains that learning is a social process where individuals acquire new behaviors and knowledge by observing others. It highlights the importance of role models, reinforcement, and the environment in shaping how students learn.

📚 Key Concepts of Social Learning Theory:
🔹Observational Learning
– Learning through watching others’ actions and outcomes.
– Requires attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation.
Example: A child learns politeness by observing classmates saying “thank you.”

🔹Modeling
– Teachers, peers, and parents act as role models.
– Learners imitate both positive and negative behaviors.
Example: Students copy a teacher’s problem-solving approach in math.

🔹Reinforcement
– Behaviors are strengthened when followed by rewards or positive outcomes.
– Can be direct (praise) or indirect (seeing others rewarded).
Example: A student studies harder after seeing a classmate praised for effort.

🔹Environment & Interaction
– Learning is shaped by the social context and surroundings.
– Behavior, personal factors, and environment influence each other.

📖 According to the 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 by 𝗔𝘁𝗸𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 and 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗻

The Multi-Store Model explains how information moves through different stages of memory. According to Atkinson and Shiffrin, memory is divided into 3 stores that work together when we learn and remember information.

📚 The 3 Memory Stores:

🔹 Sensory Memory
– The first stage of memory
– Receives information from the senses (sight, sound, smell, touch, taste)
– Holds information for only a few seconds
Example: briefly remembering a face or sound right after seeing or hearing it

⬇️ If we PAY ATTENTION to the information, it moves to short-term memory.

🔹 Short-Term Memory (STM)
– Holds a small amount of information for a short time
– Usually lasts around 15–30 seconds without rehearsal
– Limited capacity
Example: remembering a phone number long enough to write it down

⬇️ Through REHEARSAL or repetition, information moves to long-term memory.

🔹 Long-Term Memory (LTM)
– Stores information for a very long time
– Can hold large amounts of information
– Includes memories, knowledge, skills, and experiences
Example: remembering your birthday, favorite song lyrics, or how to ride a bike

🔁 Retrieval
Information from long-term memory can be brought back into short-term memory when needed

Not all students learn the same way — and that’s okay. Intelligence is not just about being “book smart.” According to Gardner, people have different kinds of intelligence that affect how they learn, solve problems, and express themselves.

📚 The 9 Multiple Intelligences:

🔹 Linguistic Intelligence – good with words, reading, writing, speaking, storytelling. Examples: writers, speakers, journalists

🔹 Logical-Mathematical Intelligence – strong in reasoning, numbers, problem-solving, analyzing. Examples: scientists, engineers, mathematicians

🔹 Visual-Spatial Intelligence – thinks in images, designs, maps, creativity, imagination. Examples: artists, architects, photographers

🔹 Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence – learns through movement and hands-on activities. Examples: athletes, dancers, surgeons

🔹 Musical Intelligence – sensitive to rhythm, melody, sound, and music. Examples: singers, musicians, composers

🔹 Interpersonal Intelligence – understands and works well with other people. Examples: teachers, leaders, counselors

🔹 Intrapersonal Intelligence – self-aware, reflective, understands own emotions and goals. Examples: philosophers, psychologists, writers
