Today, as we commemorate the 128th anniversary of Philippine independence, we remember and honor the heroes who sacrificed their lives. We honor both the known names in our textbooks and the unknown souls in the shadows who fought so that we could live ours in the light of liberty.

So as we wave our flag, let's vow to defend the independence they fought so hard to give us.
