A magnitude 7.0 earthquake jolted General Santos City at 7:37 AM on Monday, according to Phivolcs.

The agency also warned residents of possible aftershocks.

UPDATE: The death toll from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit Mindanao on Monday has risen to 19, the Office of Civil Defense said.

According to OCD spokesperson Junie Castillo, 16 of the fatalities were reported in Soccsksargen while three more were reported in the Davao Region.
