This Men’s Month, we are celebrating 𝗗𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗼—the "Bill Gates of the Philippines"—whose innovations literally shaped modern computing.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁:
𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟰 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗽: Co-produced the foundational microchip that made computer processing faster, a technology still vital to computers today.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲-𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗚𝗨𝗜 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿: Revolutionized how computers display graphics and user interfaces.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗽: Pioneered the tech that allows computers to connect to networks.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟲-𝗕𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿: Developed the first single-chip version.

Beyond his inventions, Dado is a massive advocate for using STEAM education to uplift Filipino society and empower the next generation.

Habang nag-aadjust ang mga paaralan, maaari nating simulan nang mas maaga ang paghahanda sa kanila! Sa 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽, ginagawa nating mas madali, masaya, at advance ang pag-aaral nila ng mga tech skills na ito.

Philippine Coding Camp is honored to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the SEAMEO Secretariat (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization) to help advance responsible, inclusive, and future-ready AI-integrated education across Southeast Asia.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape how we teach, learn, work, and lead, collaboration has become more important than ever. Through this partnership, PCC and SEAMEO will work together on capacity-building programmes, policy dialogue, research, and knowledge-sharing initiatives focused on AI, digital transformation, and emerging learning environments.

We are also excited to collaborate on the upcoming Southeast Asia Summit on Smart and AI-Integrated Education (SEA-SSAIE), a regional platform that will bring together education leaders, policymakers, institutions, and innovators to explore how AI can be used meaningfully, responsibly, and effectively in education.

For us at Philippine Coding Camp, this partnership is more than a formal agreement. It is a shared commitment to helping educators, learners, and institutions prepare for an AI-driven future — one that is not only technologically advanced, but also ethical, inclusive, and human-centered.
