𝐕𝐎𝐗 𝐏𝐎𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐈 | 𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚?

Ngayong araw, Hunyo 12, 2026, ipinagdiriwang natin ang ika-128 na anibersaryo ng “𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐚𝐧” ng Pilipinas mula sa kamay ng mga dayuhang nasa kapangyarihan. Muling iwinagayway ang ating Pambansang Watawat sa Kawit, Cavite bilang pagkilala sa sakripisyong ipinamalas ng mga taong lumaban para sa ating bayan para makamit ang kalayaan; at ang pagkakaroon ng Parada ng Kalayaan sa Quirino Grandstand. Ngunit sa kabila ng kalayaang ating tinatamasa ngayon, tunay nga bang malaya ang ating bansa? Hindi lamang ito naiiwan sa usapin ng dayuhang kapangyarihan kundi sa mapang-abusong sistema na patuloy na nagpapahirap sa mga mahihirap. Hindi pantay-pantay ang karapatan ng taumbayan, limitado ang oportunidad ng ating kapwa at marami pa rin ang naiiwan sa laylayan. Malaya nga ba talaga ang Pilipinas?

Hindi lang dapat sa papel nakasaad ang petsa ng Kalayaan kundi dapat nakikita rin ito sa pang-araw-araw kung saan bigo ang mga Pilipino na maramdaman ito. Hanggang ngayon, ipinagkakait pa rin ang mataas na kalidad ng edukasyon sa nakararami, marami pa ring kontraktwal ang trabaho, at walang access kahit sa basic needs lalo na ang mga gamot at libreng check-up sa mga pampublikong ospital. Kaya ang ending, maraming sakit ang lumalala at ang pinaka-masaklap, namamatay dahil sa walang suportang nakukuha mula sa gobyerno. Ito ba ang kalayaan? Mga paulit-ulit na pangalan at apelyido ng mga politiko ang patuloy na nakikinabang. Para saan pa ang kaban ng bayan? Paalala lang ho, tax ng bayan ang nagpapasahod sa inyo.

Ang tunay na repleksyon ng isang bansang malaya ay ang pagkakaroon ng hustisya at pantay na oportunidad para sa mga mamamayang Pilipino. Isa itong panawagan na hindi lang dapat natin inaalala ang ginawa ng ating mga bayani kundi gumagawa ng paraan para matupad ang uri ng bansang pilit ipinaglaban at pinangarap nila para sa atin. Ang bansang mapagpalaya, hindi lang sa papel at sa batas, kundi kalayaan na nakikita at nararamdaman.

Hangga’t nananatiling nakasentro ang pribilehiyong natatamasa na dapat natatamasa ng lahat sa iilan, hindi pa rin tapos ang laban para sa kalayaan.

Kaya, sana… makalaya na ako, pati na rin kayo, hindi lamang sa dayuhang kapangyarihan, kundi pati sa mapang-abusong sistema na pilit humahadlang sa karapatan na dapat natatamasa ng bawat Pilipino, pati na rin ang mga walang kwentang politiko. Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan!
