Adamson University proudly recognizes the successful registration of a utility model patent entitled “Herbal Wound Care Patch Using Plumeria rubra Extract” with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL).
This innovation was developed by former students of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management, demonstrating the value of interdisciplinary research and innovation.
The utility model relates to a wound care patch that incorporates Plumeria rubra (Kalachuchi) flower extract and virgin coconut oil in an ointment base applied to a breathable adhesive material. The formulation leverages the plant’s natural antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, while the coconut oil enhances skin hydration and delivery of active compounds. The patch is designed to promote faster wound healing, prevent infection, and minimize scarring.

Celebrating Student Innovation at Adamson University!
Adamson University proudly congratulates our B.S. Business Administration major in Marketing Management graduates Hanz T. Morales, Juan Carlo Cabalquinto, Angel Gweyneth Araos, and Anna Carmela Sta. Maria for the successful registration of their industrial design titled “Bottle Sleeve” (Reg. No. 3/2025/051218).
Developed as an output of their Product Management course, the registered design highlights creativity in the visual and aesthetic aspects of product development. This achievement reflects the students’ ability to transform ideas into protectable intellectual property, contributing to a growing culture of innovation within the University.
This milestone also supports global development goals, particularly:
