FEU ITHM Students Go Global in the U.S.A. Work and Travel Program 2026

Fifty-five students are currently deployed across multiple states for the 3-month cultural immersion and international training under the U.S.A. Work and Travel (USWAT) Program.

Ms. Carolina Roces, Associate Department Chair for Internship, and Dr. Marichu Liwanag, Department Chair – Graduate Studies, Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer, visited students assigned to Dellshire Resort in Wisconsin. They also inspected students' housing to ensure their safety and condition.

USWAT Program has provided students with valuable experiences that enhanced their understanding of diverse cultures and practices, strengthened their communication skills, and exposed them to various career opportunities. Through this program, students gained practical knowledge and professional competencies that will contribute to their future success in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

To further strengthen the ITHM graduate program, they also conducted benchmarking with selected universities offering online graduate programs in Wisconsin and Chicago.

Lara Kizzia Lim, a BS Tourism Management alumna, receives Michelin 1-star recognition from The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong.

She embarked on a transformative journey marked by growth, resilience, and excellence. Despite facing language barriers and self-doubt at the beginning, she gradually adapted to the fast-paced hospitality industry through hard work, determination, and the support of her colleagues and fellow FEU students.

Serving as a lead host helped her strengthen her communication skills, professionalism, and adaptability while teaching her the value of teamwork and continuous improvement. Although her original dream was to pursue aviation, her internship experience opened new opportunities and inspired her to strive for excellence in every path she chooses. Receiving recognition from the company made the experience even more meaningful and became a motivation for her future career goals.

A total of 25 students from the FEU Manila - Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management recently completed their internship at CE LA VI Singapore.

Two students were recognized during the graduation ceremony. Geri Andrea Vergara received Customer Service Rockstar Award and Kharel Anne Lebajan received the Top Performer Award.

In addition, BS Tourism Management student Fiona Marie Roselo, officially transitioned from intern to full-time employee. The experience enabled them to enhance their practical skills through real world industry exposure working in a dynamic and multicultural environment. Congratulations, Tamaraws!

A warm welcome to Mr. Knofpler Karl Estrella as the new Associate Department Chair for Tourism Management Department.

We also extend our appreciation to Ms. Vanessa Ngo for her dedicated leadership as former Associate Department Chair, now continuing her journey as Department Chair of Tourism Management.
