As the voice crying out in the wilderness, St. John the Baptist inspires the educating community to lead others closer to Jesus through words and actions. St. John the Baptist, pray for us!

As the spiritual director and mentor of St. John Bosco, he played a vital role in guiding and strengthening Don Bosco in his vocation and mission for the young. Through his encouragement and fatherly guidance, Don Cafasso helped shape the foundations of the Salesian spirit of charity, gentleness, and pastoral care. His life reminds us of the importance of faithful mentors who lead others closer to God through kindness and example. St. Joseph Cafasso was especially known for his care for the poor, prisoners, and those most in need of mercy and hope. Youth Serving Youth: Leaders and Animators Gather for Their First Encounter

On June 18, 2026, the SYG leaders officially met with their animators for the first time. Before the encounter began, the leaders headed to the big chapel to adore the center of their mission โ€” Jesus Christ. As the leaders knelt before the Blessed Sacrament, they participated in a Eucharistic Adoration. They asked for the Lordโ€™s guidance as they prepared for another year of service.

The leaders then proceeded to the AVR for their encounter. Sr Asela Chavez, FMA, PhD greeted them with an opening message, reminding them of the 2026 Strenna, โ€œDo Whatever He Tells You.โ€ She encouraged the leaders to trust in God and to let Him guide their decisions and actions. She emphasized the importance of faith and obedience in leadership, reminding them that Salesian Youth Leaders know how to listen to God and to others.

Following the opening message, it was finally time for the leaders to meet their animators. They gathered and grouped themselves according to their respective Salesian Youth Groups. Together with their animators, they discussed the mission and identity of their group. The encounter provided them time to discuss their plans and goals for this school year, as well as formations and outreaches they wish to conduct. Through open discussions and collaboration, the meeting served as an opportunity for their plans to align, ensuring that their planned activities would be both purposeful and impactful for the year ahead.

The encounter concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to serve. As they begin a new year of leadership, the SYG leaders, alongside their animators, look forward to working together in building a joyful and faith-filled community.

Behind Every Lesson: A Fatherโ€™s Quiet Legacyโœจ๐Ÿ’•

Behind every lesson learned inside the classroom is a story that often begins at home.

This Fatherโ€™s Day, we honor all fathers, grandfathers, guardians, and father figures whose quiet strength shapes our lives. Through their sacrifices and the values they instill, they reflect the spirit of Don Bosco and the nurturing guidance of the Salesian Sistersโ€”where discipline meets compassion both at home and in school.

Thank you for being our safe place, our constant support, and the foundation of our dreams.

In your steady presence, we are reminded that fatherhood is not measured by grand gestures, but by a faithful love that mirrors Godโ€™s own.

Safety First: Bosconians Practice Earthquake Preparedness

Preparedness took the spotlight as the Bosconians participated in a series of earthquake drills โ€” organized by the school administration โ€” which were held on June 10, 15, and 17, while a school-wide drill was held on June 18, 2026, in the quadrangle. The school aimed to strengthen Bosconiansโ€™ awareness, readiness, and ability to stay calm during disasters.

The initial drills conducted separated the Elementary, Junior High School, and Senior High School students by giving them their own assigned times. During these, the proper procedures were taught to the students. They were reminded that during earthquakes, the students must Duck, Cover, Hold, and most importantly, pray the Hail Mary. The teachers watched closely, supervising the students while guiding them to ensure they were following the proper procedures. Mrs. Cabas, the discipline coordinator, timed each drill to check if each student could get out safely and in time. These were all in place to ensure the safety of the students should an emergency occur.

Through these drills, the Bosconians gradually became more familiar with the emergency protocols. They learned the importance of staying calm during emergencies and prioritizing their safety during unexpected situations.

The series of preparations was finalized on June 18, 2026, when a school-wide earthquake drill was held during the morning assembly. As the bell rang โ€” signalling the start of the drill โ€” students, teachers, and staff across the campus were quick to apply what they had learned during previous drills. They soon evacuated the quadrangle, going to their assigned exits in an orderly manner. After the drill ended, Mrs. Cabas asked the students about the importance of drills. Students from various grade levels answered, giving their perspective on the importance of said drills.

The school-wide drill showcased the discipline and cooperation of the Bosconians, highlighting their readiness. These earthquake drills served as an important reminder that safety requires awareness and preparation. Mr. Albero, SHS Team Leader, said, โ€œThe Bosconians are aware of and knowledgeable about the essence of having earthquake drills; however, some of them still do not take the practices seriously. Some are quick on their feet, while some dilly-dally.โ€ Despite this, Mr. Alberto observed that the Bosconians' trust and faith in our Blessed Mother, Mary, is evident as they pray for her maternal aid and protection during the drills.

These drills served more than just routine practices. These became valuable lessons in discipline, awareness, and preparedness. Through these exercises, the Bosconians were taught to stay calm, move swiftly, and to trust in our preparations and faith. As emergencies may come without warning, the Don Bosco School Community continues to promote safety and shared responsibility.
