The UST Department of Chemistry proudly congratulates 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗕. 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗜𝗜𝗜 on receiving the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗣𝗙𝗖𝗦 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 for his invaluable contributions as a Founding Member of the Integrated Chemists of the Philippines (ICP).

A pioneering scientist, educator, mentor, researcher, and institution-builder, Acd. Sevilla has devoted his life to advancing chemistry in the Philippines. Through decades of leadership, scholarship, and service, he has helped shape the profession, strengthen the chemistry community, and inspire generations of Filipino chemists.

Widely regarded as an icon in Philippine chemistry and a living legend in the field, his legacy extends far beyond his scientific achievements. It lives on through the countless students, researchers, educators, and professionals whose lives and careers he has touched.

This recognition is a fitting tribute to a lifetime dedicated to excellence, service, and the advancement of chemistry for the nation.

Conferred by the Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies (PFCS), the award recognizes individuals whose accomplishments have significantly advanced the practice and impact of chemistry in their respective fields while serving as an inspiration to future generations of chemists.

A true Thomasian Chemist, Ms. Kuizon-Cruz graduated Magna Cum Laude, served as UST Chemical Society President, was the College of Science Batch Valedictorian, and topped the 2000 PRC Chemist Licensure Examination. Today, she continues to exemplify excellence as President and CEO of Prime Energy Resources Development, B.V.

Her remarkable journey, from the halls of UST Main Building and chemistry laboratories to leading one of the country's key energy organizations, demonstrates how chemistry can be a powerful foundation for leadership, innovation, and nation-building.

Day 2 of the 40th Philippine Chemistry Congress (40PCC) is in the books, and the best way to cap it off was stepping out of the conference halls and into a room full of warmth and laughter.

Last June 11, the Four Seasons Buffet & Hotpot became a second home for generations of Thomasian Chemists. This night is the heartbeat of our community. For our alumni, it’s a grounding reminder of lifelong roots. For the faculty and students, it’s a powerful look at the legacy they are carrying forward. And for the Department itself, seeing generations of Thomasian chemists, our family, in one room reinforces the legacy we continue to build together.

Our bond goes way beyond the laboratory. Thank you to everyone who came home, and a huge shoutout to our incredible industry partners and generous alumni for keeping our chemistry strong! 🐯💛
