QUIET STRENGTH, POWERFUL STORY: PRINCE EVO M. SENGSENG SECURES
3RD RUNNER-UP IN “STORIES IN SILENCE” AT NFOT 2026 ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ

In a performance where silence spoke louder than words, Prince Evo M. Sengseng proudly emerged as 3rd Runner-Up in the “Stories in Silence” category during the 2026 National Festival of Talents (NFOT) held in Roxas City, Capiz.

Representing Sta. Ana Elementary School, Evo captivated both judges and audience with his expressive Filipino Sign Language story interpretation through movement—delivering emotion, depth, and meaning without uttering a single word. His performance reflected discipline, creativity, and a deep understanding of narrative expression, earning him national recognition as one of the country’s finest young performers.

Behind this achievement is the unwavering guidance of his coach, Ms. Alma M. Alonzo, whose dedication and patience helped shape every detail of the performance. Together with the strong support system from school and division officials, Evo’s journey became a testament to teamwork and shared vision. Sta. Ana Elementary School Principal Ms. Bernadeth A. Pablo expressed deep pride in the achievement, emphasizing the school’s commitment to nurturing holistic excellence among learners. Meanwhile, Mrs. Amcy M. Esteban, Education Program Supervisor (EPS), extended full support and encouragement throughout the preparation and competition, ensuring that the team was well-guided and ready for the national stage.
This recognition is not just for one learner. It is the result of collective effort and dedication of our SDO Manila officials headed by Sheryll T. Gayola, Schools Division Superintendent, and the belief of Dr. Charlie Fababaer, ASDS and Dr. Nerissa R. Lomeda, ASDS, in the power of silent storytelling.

The achievement brings pride to the Schools Division Office, showcasing the strength of its learners in both academic and performance-based national competitions.
As the curtains close on NFOT 2026 in Roxas City, Prince Evo’s performance remains a powerful reminder that even in silence, stories can move hearts, inspire minds, and leave a lasting impact

FROM PREPARATION TO TRIUMPH: SDO MANILA EMERGES NATIONAL CHAMPION IN 2026 POPULATION AND DEVELOPMENT QUIZ IN ROXAS CITY

Roxas City, Capiz — Excellence and perseverance took center stage as a representative from the Schools Division Office (SDO) Manila emerged as the National Champion in the 2026 National Population and Development Quiz Bee, held in Roxas City, Capiz—known as the “Seafood Capital of the Philippines.”

The prestigious competition, part of the annual National Festival of Talents (NFOT), gathered the brightest student minds from across the country to test their knowledge on population education, sustainable development, and pressing socio-economic issues.
Leading the victory was Renz Cedric P. Santos, who delivered an outstanding performance throughout the competition, showcasing not only academic excellence but also composure and critical thinking under pressure. Behind this remarkable achievement was his dedicated coach and mentor, Mr. Julius Castro Miranda, whose months of intensive preparation, mentoring, and unwavering support played a vital role in shaping the champion’s success. “This victory is a testament to the power of preparation, determination, and faith,” Miranda shared. “Renz gave his best in every round, and I am incredibly proud of what he has achieved—not just for himself, but for our school, SDO-Manila and the entire National Capital Region.”

This achievement was made even more meaningful through the strong support and guidance of Mrs. Amalia C. Solis, Education Program Supervisor (EPS), whose leadership and encouragement helped shape the team’s readiness and confidence. Equally instrumental was Maria Eva S. Nacion, Principal of Florentino Torres High School, whose full support—both in academic preparation and holistic development—empowered the team to perform at their very best. This achievement is a collective effort together with SDO Manila’ s SDS Sheryll T. Gayola, ASDS Charlie Fababaer and ASDS Nerissa R. Lomeda, NCR Education Program Supervisor Andrew E. Tan and RD Jackylin Robel of CPD.

The win significantly contributed to the National Capital Region (NCR) being hailed as the Overall Champion in this year’s NFOT, further solidifying its reputation as a powerhouse in academic competitions. Officials, educators, and supporters from SDO Manila and Florentino Torres High School expressed immense pride in the achievement, emphasizing that this milestone reflects the school’s enduring legacy of excellence and commitment to quality education. Beyond the competition, the experience in Capiz proved to be both enriching and memorable for the team. The exposure, camaraderie, and cultural immersion added to the significance of the journey, making the victory even more meaningful.

As the champions return home, they carry not only a title but also an inspiration for fellow learners—to strive harder, dream bigger, and believe that with dedication and faith, success is always within reach.
