Reflecting on an enriching international academic exchange in South Korea last October 2025.

The Department of Biomedical Manufacturing and Robotics Engineering successfully conducted its Field Trip and Cultural Exchange Program from October 24โ€“30, 2025, providing students with a meaningful opportunity to expand their knowledge in biomedical engineering through global exposure, research engagement, and cultural immersion.

The delegation explored various cultural landmarks in Busan and Gimhae, including Yongdusan Park, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Taejongdae Park, Gimhae Cultural Village, and Songdo Skywalk, allowing participants to experience the rich culture and heritage of South Korea firsthand.

One of the highlights of the program was the academic visit to Inje University Gimhae Campus and the Gimhae Biomedical Industry Promotion Agency (GBIA), where students toured advanced research and learning facilities such as the:
๐Ÿ”น Library and e-Learning Support Center Studio
๐Ÿ”น Department of Medical Biotechnology
๐Ÿ”น Dream Factory
๐Ÿ”น Department of Biomedical Engineering

Students also participated in hands-on experimental activities under the Animal, Cell, and ALPAS Groups, gaining valuable insights into real-world biomedical research and laboratory applications.

The program concluded with student presentations that showcased the knowledge, experiences, and learnings gained throughout the exchange.

This is a testament to the departmentโ€™s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and global learning opportunities.

โ€œResearch excellenceโ€

Revisiting a proud moment as we celebrate the remarkable achievement of our BS/MS MFG student Kristian Elijah Y. Laurel for winning the Best Paper Award (Overall Champion) at the Research Colloquium during the 2024 Muntinlupa City Robotics Fair & Emerging Technology Exhibits. The event, themed "Emerging Technologies and Innovations for Inclusive Economic Development and Sustainability," was held last November 20-22, 2024, at Colegio de Muntinlupa.

Elijah's award-winning research, titled "The Design and Development of a Modular Composite Hybrid Tricopter/Fixed-Wing e-VTOL Drone for Post-Disaster Applications," was conducted under the guidance of his thesis adviser, Dr. Renann G. Baldovino. ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ†

"International Academic Immersion"

Looking back on the MEM-MRE studentsโ€™ Taiwan international field trip last November 2025, the experience marked a successful and meaningful culmination of the MFGSEMS subject (Field Trip and Seminars). The students gained valuable exposure to advanced manufacturing, automation, innovation, and technology through visits to leading universities and industries in Taiwan.

Their itinerary included visits to National Chin-Yi University of Technology, Taichung Software Park, HIWIN Technologies Corp., Siemens Taiwan, and Ming Chi University of Technology, where they experienced firsthand advanced technologies, innovation, and modern industrial practices.

As part of the Department of Biomedical, Manufacturing, and Robotics Engineeringโ€™s curriculum, this foreign immersion program continues to provide students with global academic and industry perspectives while allowing them to appreciate Taiwanโ€™s rich culture and heritage.โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿค–โš™๏ธ

From the very beginning, manufacturing started with the human hand.

Simple hand tools.
Carefully shaping materials.
Building solutions through skill, precision, and creativity.

But the world kept moving forward.

Hand tools became machines.
Machines became systems.
And systems became intelligent.

Today, manufacturing is no longer just about making products.
Itโ€™s about creating the future.

In the Department of Biomedical, Manufacturing, and Robotics Engineering, you will learn the foundations of modern manufacturing methods from conceptual development, digital design, ideation, and optimization to materials processing, industrial fabrication, and intelligent manufacturing systems

Because modern engineers do more than operate machines.
They solve human problems.
They innovate with purpose.
They create technology that enhances the way people live.

So if you are ready to build, innovate, and shape tomorrowโ€ฆ
