Schools must always be sanctuaries for learning, growth, and peace, and never scenes of violence.
The recent heartbreaking incidents in our country are painful reminders that the safety and well-being of our youth require our immediate, collective action.
We believe school safety goes far beyond physical security. It requires us to deeply understand our school climate and the social-emotional landscapes of our learners. By proactively evaluating the unseen challenges, anxieties, and environmental pressures our students face, we can identify warning signs and intervene before a crisis occurs.
Let us work together to build safer, more supportive spaces where every child feels secure, heard, and supported. ๐ค

"A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent."

AFAA 2026 | Day 3
Presentation 6
Dr. Rose Marie Salazar-Clemeรฑa inspired the participants gathered at the Convention Hall as she delivered her discussion entitled: โMental Health and Well-being in Educational Institutions: Implications for School Leadership,โ emphasizing that leadership drives mental health, and that educational administrators play a pivotal role in shaping supportive environments for learners and educators alike. She highlighted the importance of creating safe spaces within schools where students feel valued, engaged, and empowered to grow holistically.
Her discussion delved into the significance of prioritizing school happiness, well-being, and a sense of belonging within educational communities. Through research-based insights and meaningful reflections, she emphasized that schools must go beyond academic excellence and become communities that nurture emotional wellness, resilience, and lifelong learning. She also reminded the participants that educators and administrators are called to become instruments of hope and understanding, especially in a rapidly changing world where mental health challenges continue to rise among the youth.
Dr. Salazar-Clemeรฑa concluded her presentation by encouraging everyone to lead with empathy and compassion, reminding them that a supportive educational environment can transform lives and strengthen communities. Her insightful discussion resonated deeply with the participants and was met with warm appreciation.
