TIPS FOR CABIN CREW ASPIRANTS: LOWER YOUR EGO, TREAT EVERYONE EQUALLY

In a cabin crew recruitment event, the recruitment process does not begin only when you face your interviewers. It begins the moment you enter the recruitment venue. The people who may observe you include the building guards, OJTs, receptionists, janitors, office staff, and, of course, the recruitment team. Yes, you are being observed by different people inside the recruitment venue.

You may have the qualities needed to become a cabin crew member. You may meet the height requirement, have proper grooming, speak clearly, smile often, and show the qualities airline recruiters are looking for. However, the moment you treat people differently, such as speaking nicely to the recruiters while treating OJTs and office staff poorly, you will most likely be rejected.

In the airline industry, you cannot act one way toward certain people and another way toward others. You cannot be nice only to passengers who you think are high earners, professionals, or well-known celebrities, then treat ordinary passengers differently, such as rank-and-file workers or first-time flyers. That is not acceptable.

You have to be naturally kind, respectful, and welcoming to everyone. The way you treat and speak to your recruiters should be the same way you treat the venue guards, office staff, OJTs, service team, and everyone else you meet, including your fellow applicants.

So again, always stay humble and manage your ego. You need to carry that attitude not only during recruitment and training, but also when you are already flying. Having low ego and treating everyone equally should become part of who you are.
