Capitolina O. Legaspi Memorial High School extends its sincere gratitude to the personnel of the Office of the City Treasurer for conducting the calibration and inspection of the school's weighing scale. This activity was facilitated with the assistance of Ma'am Gisela Capili Miralpes, a MAPEH teacher of COLMHS, who coordinated and participated in the process alongside the city personnel.

The calibration and verification of weighing equipment play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of health-related data gathered from learners. Accurate weight measurements are essential in monitoring students' growth and nutritional status, identifying potential health concerns, and supporting the implementation of appropriate school health programs and interventions. Through this collaborative effort, COLMHS continues to uphold its commitment to promoting the health, well-being, and holistic development of every learner.

Thank you to our City Treasurer's Office personnel for their dedication and support in helping schools maintain reliable standards for health monitoring and learner welfare.

As part of its commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of all learners, teachers, and personnel, Capitolina O. Legaspi Memorial High School actively participated in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026.

The activity aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and promote awareness on the proper actions to take before, during, and after an earthquake. Students, teaching personnel, and non-teaching staff diligently practiced the standard earthquake safety procedures, including the โ€œDuck, Cover, and Holdโ€ technique and the orderly evacuation to designated safe areas.

Through this drill, COLMHS continues to foster a culture of readiness and resilience, equipping every member of the school community with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively during emergencies. The successful conduct of the drill reflects the school's unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and promoting disaster risk reduction and management.

Let us continue to work together in building a safer and more prepared school community.

As COLMHS officially opens School Year 2026โ€“2027, the school successfully conducted a series of Opening Block activities aimed at ensuring that every learner is prepared, supported, and empowered for a productive academic year.

The Opening Block served as a crucial period for establishing a strong foundation for learning, promoting learner readiness, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and ensuring that all school systems and support mechanisms are in place before the full implementation of classroom instruction.

Among the key activities conducted were the Rapid Literacy Assessment (RLA) and Rapid Mathematics Assessment (RMA), which provided baseline data on learnersโ€™ literacy and numeracy competencies. Likewise, the administration of Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) and Diagnostic Tests enabled teachers to assess learnersโ€™ academic strengths and areas for improvement, allowing for the development of appropriate instructional interventions and support programs throughout the school year.

To help learners transition smoothly into the new academic year, Student Orientation Programs were conducted to familiarize students with school policies, academic expectations, learner support services, child protection measures, and campus regulations. These orientations promoted a positive, safe, and learner-friendly school environment where students can thrive academically and socially.

Recognizing the importance of family involvement in education, the school also held Parentsโ€™ Orientation Sessions, providing parents and guardians with important information regarding school programs, curriculum implementation, learner assessment, attendance policies, and the vital role they play in supporting their children's learning journey. These activities further strengthened the partnership between the school, home, and community.

As part of the school's commitment to holistic learner development, Body Mass Index (BMI) and Nutritional Assessments were conducted to determine the nutritional status of students and identify those who may require health and nutrition interventions. These initiatives support the school's goal of nurturing healthy and well-rounded learners.

In promoting student leadership, active citizenship, and meaningful participation in school governance, COLMHS also facilitated the election of officers for various school organizations, clubs, and student-led associations. These activities provided learners with opportunities to develop leadership skills, responsibility, teamwork, and a sense of service to the school community.

Meanwhile, SDO personnel, school head, coordinators, and teachers participated in monitoring activities, school readiness checks and OPCRF validation processes to ensure compliance with DepEd standards and the effective implementation of school programs. These efforts contribute to continuous improvement and the delivery of quality education services.

The successful conduct of these Opening Block activities reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of teachers, school personnel, parents, stakeholders, and community partners who continue to support the mission and vision of COLMHS. Through these initiatives, the school has laid a strong foundation for a productive, meaningful, and successful School Year 2026โ€“2027.

As we embark on a new academic journey, COLMHS remains committed to providing quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education while fostering excellence, leadership, resilience, and lifelong learning among all students.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan!

Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ
