From reflecting on shared experiences to celebrating excellence, the APSA Facilitators’ Group came together for the Semestral Evaluation and Culminating Activity last April 18, 2026 to celebrate a journey that is shared with lessons, growth, and moments that shaped every member into the facilitators that they are today.

Beyond any tasks and responsibilities, it is the efforts, experiences, and connections that truly made the semester meaningful. Each lesson truly taught us to grow with purpose, lead with heart, and keep striving for excellence in our own ways—sweet in spirit 🩷, strong in purpose 💚, and always growing 💙.

𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀:
Miko follows Rosa, a young woman from a low-income community who remembers her brother not as society labeled him, but as the person he once was. Before he was called “adik,” Miko was caring, creative, gentle, and full of small dreams. But as untreated mental illness took hold, whispers from the community grew louder than understanding. Labeled, misunderstood, and left without proper care, Miko slowly became a stranger to the world around him. Years after his sudden disappearance, Rosa confronts how stigma, poverty, and systemic neglect reduced her brother to a single word. In reclaiming his name, she now works to ensure others like him are seen not as labels, but as people.

𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐝:
𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – Exposes how gaps in social systems allow violence to dehumanize vulnerable individuals, and how advocacy can strengthen justice and protection.
𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 – Highlights the urgent need for mental health awareness, access to care, and community-based support to protect and restore dignity.

These are only the main SDGs addressed. Psychology is wide-ranging and tackles issues systemically, from community interventions and social policies to mental health care and stigma reduction.

𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐚 is a Filipino wordplay combining the terms “kilos” and “Sikolohiya,” promoting the synergy between mind and motion. It advocates the idea that Psychology must not only exist in the echo chambers of the academic field but extend outwards, shaping a future by actively moving in the world through our values. Kilosohiya highlights that advocacy remains stagnant without deliberate action and movement to scaffold this ideology.

Background of the Song:

Kilosohiya is an advocacy delivered through a song, specifically addressing the Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, 10, 13, 16, and 17. It strives to include every Filipino in the conversation while empowering Psychologists to use psychology as a beacon towards action. The lyrics are mostly grounded in Filipino, Developmental, and General Psychology. All areas take a holistic approach to understanding and addressing realities in the Philippines, such as political issues directly affecting the well-being of Filipinos.

Using commentary on the current sociopolitical landscape and its direct influence on mental health and development, Kilosohiya not only empowers Psychological intervention, but also the potential effort of collective national action. While the song is not inherently political, the message calls for transforming awareness into action for all Filipino sectors to help shape our landscape with empathy and integrity. This shared effort, such as “pakikiramdam” and “pakikialam,” is deeply rooted in Filipino values. We are called to disengage from passivity and empathize in the community with purpose.

No matter how bleak the current era is in handling core issues that translate into Psychological struggles, we stand optimistic about our advocacy and the hope of internal redemption. It is only in our collective and shared struggle and action that change can be achieved. As the community dances with the melody this song brings, it plants a seed that will someday bloom into the future of our dreams.
