Talking Tip from an SLP 👀🎶

One simple way to encourage language at home?
Try the “fill in the blanks” technique habang kumakanta 😊

You can use any simple tune (even Ms. Rachel songs 😅).
The goal is to pause before the last word so your child naturally tries to “fill in” or sing the missing word 🎤✨

Example:
🎵 “Put it in, put it in, put it ____”

This simple strategy helps encourage:
✨ vocabulary
✨ imitation
✨ participation
✨ early language skills

And remember 💛
Hindi kailangan complicated ang activities para makatulong sa speech and language development.
Minsan, yung simple everyday interactions ang pinaka-effective 😊

Nagba-baby talk ka rin ba minsan? 👶💭

Don't worry—hindi ibig sabihin bawal na maging playful. 💛

Instead of:
❌ "Come to wowa"
❌ "Ayaw kain baby?"

Try:
✅ "Come to Lola"
✅ "Ayaw mo kumain?"

Gumamit ng complete words at tamang pronunciation.

At oo, paminsan lang sila bata kaya pwede ka pa ring maging cute at ma lambing 😅

Pwede rin naman gumamit ng up-and-down tone of voice, exaggerated facial expressions, at excited na pagkakasabi para mas makuha ang attention nila at mas maging engaging ang interaction.

⚠️ WHAT’S IMPORTANT: tama pa rin ang words at pronunciation na naririnig nila. 😊

Nagba-baby talk ka rin ba minsan? 😅

Gets naman, Mommy & Daddy 🥺
Cute talaga sila kausapin and minsan gusto lang natin silang lambingin.

Pero as an SLP, isa ito sa pinaka-common na napapansin namin during evaluations.

Ang bata kasi natututong magsalita through listening.
Pinapakinggan nila kung paano tayo magsalita—then ginagaya nila iyon 😊

So kapag palagi silang exposed sa maling pronunciation, altered words, or maling grammar, possible na iyon din ang ma-pick up nila habang nade-develop ang speech and language skills nila.

And no judgment here ha 💛
Maraming parents at lolos/lolas ang hindi aware na possible pala itong maka-affect sa speech development.
