Founded in 2013, the 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐒𝐏𝐆) at the University of Asia and the Pacific celebrates its 13th Foundation Day today, June 22.

As we also honor St. Thomas More, the patron saint of public servants and politicians, may we reflect on the values of integrity, accountability, and service that lie at the heart of ethical leadership and good governance.

In a time when the principles of democracy, accountability, and civic engagement are continually tested, may we remain diligent in upholding good governance and service to the common good. Guided by our commitment to #𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞, #𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞, and #𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, let us continue forming citizens who are not only competent, but also principled, compassionate, and dedicated to creating meaningful change in society.

On the 𝟏𝟐𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we reflect on what it means to protect democracy, truth, and the public good.

From meaningful conversations about our Constitution to celebrating the projects, people, and memories that shaped our year, our Year-End GA was a reminder of everything we've accomplished together.

⚖️ 𝐆𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐏𝐆 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩

POLIS hosted its second field trip of the year at the Supreme Court of the Philippines last April 22!

Members from both Junior Colleges and the undergraduate programs explored the SC building, and engaged in discussions on the history of the judiciary and of the court. This was then followed by a Q&A session with a practicing court attorney.

We extend our gratitude to the Supreme Court and its staff for the opportunity to immerse in the practices of the judiciary.

This #𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐔𝐧𝐨, we especially remember all Filipino workers and laborers. We celebrate the importance of labor and recognize the ordinary sacrifices behind the country we enjoy today. We value their work, but beyond this, we value their rights as persons—to fair wages, to workplace safety, to rest.

In today’s volatile economic landscape, the role of the ordinary worker is more relevant than ever. 𝐖𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞.
