As we mark the 128th Philippine Independence Day, we take a moment to reflect on what it truly means to be free.
True freedom shines brightest when it is used to serve those in need, defend the truth, and contribute to the welfare of our communities. Today, we renew our commitment to being active citizens who choose unity over division and service over self-interest.
Isang makabuluhang Araw ng Kalayaan sa buong bansa! ๐ต๐ญ

This March, we celebrate International Womenโs Month by honoring the women who lead with courage, wisdom, and purpose. โ๏ธ๐ธ
CIC-QCSHS itself was founded on ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ญ๐ฐ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ญ by a woman and continues to be shaped by the strength of women leaders. Since 2021, when Ms. Rinoa Somel Sanchez first charted the course of the organization, CIC has grown from small initiatives into a movement rooted in leadership, integrity, and social responsibility. โต๏ธ
This month, we also recognize inspiring Filipina leaders such as Leni Robredo, Miriam Defensor-Santiago, and Joy Belmonte who continue to show that leadership has always had a womanโs face. ๐ฃ๏ธ
As CIC moves forward, we remember that women are not only part of the journey. They help lead the way. ๐โจ

In 1986, the Philippines stood as a beacon of democracy. Along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), millions of Filipinos gathered in a peaceful display of unity that would redefine the nationโs path.
From February 22โ25, the People Power Revolution culminated in the exile of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and his family to Hawaii, marking the restoration of democratic governance in the country.
The uprising followed years of repression under martial law. According to Amnesty International, in the nine years after martial law was declared, around 70,000 people were imprisoned, 34,000 were tortured, and more than 3,200 were killed. These documented figures remain a significant part of the nationโs historical record and help explain why many chose peaceful resistance in 1986.
Forty years later, EDSA remains a reminder of the power of collective civic action. In these times where corruption continues to plague the country, its legacy continues to encourage active citizenship, peaceful participation, and a shared commitment to safeguarding democracy.

Last February 18, 2026, CIC-QCSHS LISR Pi-oneers had the privilege of conducting this meaningful donation drive at the Department of Social Welfare and Development - Reception and Study Center for Children (DSWD-RSCC). ๐
Children are the heart of our future. This is not just an act of giving donations, as it is also about nurturing them with love, hope, and the courage to dream bigger. Every act of kindness reminds them that they are seen, valued, and never alone. ๐
To everyone who donated and supported this initiative, CIC is beyond grateful for turning compassion into action. Your generosity made every smile possible and helped us create a meaningful impact in the lives of the youth. Together, we prove that making a difference is a shared responsibility that defines who we are as a community. ๐ซโจ
