A meaningful and inspiring moment for MADZ Schola Cantorum! ✨

We were honored to have Dr. Kittiporn Tantrarungroj, esteemed conductor of วงประสานเสียง The Bangkok Voices, spend time with our scholars as he observed their chorus, theory, and voice classes. Together with Sir Mark Anthony Carpio and Sir Alfred Samonte, his presence made the day even more meaningful for everyone.

Moments like these continue to inspire us to strive for excellence in choral music. 🎶

It takes more than the performers on stage to bring a concert to life. ✨

Our dedicated scholars from MADZ Schola Cantorum had the opportunity to work behind the scenes as part of the Production Team during Tempus Est, the recent concert of the Philippine Madrigal Singers together with The Bangkok Voices, held last March 14–15 at the Proscenium Theater at Rockwell.

As part of their curriculum, our scholars take part not only in musical training but also in the production side of concerts—serving in Front of House (FOH), logistics, and merchandise operations, and helping ensure that every detail behind the scenes runs smoothly. This hands-on experience gives them valuable exposure to the artistry and teamwork behind every world-class performance.

To our Schola, thank you for your dedication, hard work, and willingness to serve behind the scenes. Your commitment helps make moments like these possible, and we are proud to see you grow both on and off the stage. 💚

MSO | Ryan Cayabyab's Te Deum featuring the Philippine Madrigal Singers 26/02/2026

With hearts full and voices forever changed 🤍🎶

As scholars of music, we are taught that every note carries responsibility, every rehearsal carries purpose, and every performance is an offering. Being part of the Grand Chorus of the Manila Symphony Orchestra for its 100th Anniversary Concert was not simply another stage for the Madz Schola Cantorum — it was a sacred moment in our journey as growing musicians.

To stand shoulder to shoulder with the current and alumni members of the Philippine Madrigal Singers was deeply humbling. These are artists whose legacy has shaped Philippine choral music, and to share the same breath, the same harmonies, the same stage — it felt like stepping into history while also becoming part of it.

As scholars, we realized that growth does not only happen in classrooms and rehearsals, but in moments where excellence surrounds you and gently calls you to rise higher.

Performing the music of National Artist for Music Mr. Ryan Cayabyab was a profound honor. His compositions are woven into the soul of Filipino artistry, and to give life to his work in such a historic celebration reminded us why we dedicate ourselves to this craft.

At the same time, being led by our choirmaster, Mr. Mark Anthony Carpio, made the experience even more personal and meaningful. To be guided by a mentor who has devoted his life to shaping generations of singers — and to witness his artistry on such a monumental stage — filled us with pride and gratitude.

One master’s music, another master’s leadership — both shaping us in ways words can barely express.

In that concert hall, we were not just performers. We were students learning in real time, hearts wide open. We learned about excellence. We learned about legacy. We learned that music is bigger than any single voice — it is a shared inheritance passed down with love, discipline, and devotion.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience will forever echo in us — in the way we rehearse, in the way we listen, in the way we honor every note we sing from this day forward.

From the depths of our grateful hearts, thank you for allowing us to grow, to serve, and to be part of a century-long story of beautiful music. 💙✨

As the year draws to a close and the Christmas season fills our hearts, we end our final class for this year with gratitude, joy, and song. 🎄🤍

This season of learning was made even more meaningful as the Schola had the privilege of rehearsing alongside the Philippine Madrigal Singers—a gift we will carry with us beyond the year.

With thankful hearts, we honor the mentors who guided us throughout this journey:

Music Theory: Ms. Melissa Corazon V. Mantaring
Voice: Mrs. Maria Cecilia Lucia O. Valeña
Chorus Class: Prof. Mark Anthony Carpio and Ms. Ma. Celedonia Franco
Program Administrator: Ms. Liaa Ambrosio-Patag

Our sincere thanks as well to our coordinators, Vince Pedraja and Nicole Adri, for their dedication and service.

As we welcome Christmas, we carry forward the music, lessons, and community we’ve built—sharing them as gifts through every note we sing. May our voices continue to bring light, harmony, and hope. 🎶✨

✨ A New Musical Journey Begins! ✨

This morning, our scholars and their parents gathered at the ICITE Theater, Eastwood, for the official Madz Schola Cantorum Students and Parents Orientation.

Led by Ms. Liaa Ambrosio-Patag, Program Administrator, the orientation covered the exciting plans and activities awaiting our scholars for the next two years — from rehearsals, classes, to concerts and more!

We were also honored by the presence of our Program Director and the Conductor of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, Prof. Mark Anthony Carpio, who shared his inspiring message to the young musicians. 🎶

Here’s to a meaningful journey ahead with the Madz Schola Cantorum family! 🌟
