Jesuit Statement on Death of Ateneo de Manila Students

10/06/2026

As we reach the final day of Term 2025–2026, we look back on a year defined by vision, commitment, and growth.

For our Executive Board, COA-M has been more than a Council; it has been a community, a responsibility, and a shared purpose. Through every challenge, initiative, and milestone, one thing remained constant: the call to be Always In Service.

As we close this chapter, hear from our Executive Board as they reflect on one simple question:

WHAT DOES COA-M MEAN TO YOU? 💙

Less assumptions, more conversations. 🗣️

Looking back at guest speaker Jermaine Ocampo’s talk at HRCon: Bahay ni COA last March 14, 2026, one thing’s clear: HR isn’t just about policies, it’s about people. 🤝

Sometimes, the simplest things make the biggest impact—listening a little closer, acknowledging what’s unsaid, and making people feel seen. Because behind every role is a person shaped by their own AFAMs: apprehensions, fears, aspirations, and motivations. 🌟

At the end of the day, better workplaces don’t start with rules; they start with understanding. ❤️‍🩹

Manifesto? Manifesting!🤞🏻✨

Throughout the academic year, the efforts of COA-M consisted of monthly COAversations that aimed to better connect with its constituents and align the organization community; alongside semesterly COA Conventions, which guided student leaders through narratives and frameworks promoting sustainable leadership within the org community. Each served its own purpose, but all shared one goal—to build a more empowered and progressive tomorrow.

On May 2, COACon 2's Day 2 took place and marked a day of reflection, collaboration, and leadership development. With the theme “Elevating Tomorrow,” The day centered on promoting sustainability through meaningful forward-looking discussions and activities.

Key activities included:
• A manifesto writing and presentation, where participants presented shared aspirations for addressing relevant organizational concerns to strengthen the org community;
• A discussion of a Transitioning Guide that ensures sustainability and uniformity throughout the leadership transitions; and,
• The Constitutional Convention (ConCon) which focused on improving COA-M’s Constitution and Bylaws, through garnering feedback from the orgs through their presidents and next leaders, together with COA-M alumni Mr. Pip Ventigan, and moderator-formator Mr. Aeron Syliongtay.

Through these efforts, the collective insights gathered from the COAversations and the Manifesto writing during COACon 2 are set to be compiled into a unified manifesto, which will be formally presented to OSA this coming June.

As we continue this journey, may we continue to lead with purpose, ignite our passion for leadership, and work together to shape a sustainable community that endures beyond our time in office.
