TODAY IN HISTORY l 40 Years Since the People Power Revolution
Four decades ago, history unfolded on the streets of EDSA as millions of Filipinos stood united in peaceful defiance. From February 22 to 25, 1986, citizens proved that courage and solidarity could overcome fear and oppression.
As citizens called out for protection and prayer, the nation witnessed an extraordinary moment. A revolution without gunfire, where rosaries and raised hands became symbols of resistance.
On February 25, Corazon Aquino took her oath as president, marking the restoration of democratic rule after years of dictatorship.
Forty years later, the spirit of EDSA lives on, not only as a chapter in history books, but as a continuing call to defend truth, freedom, and democracy.
