TODAY | UP Student Regent Clemente tackled “Parliamentary Practice and Procedure” in Tanglaw: Pagpapanday ng Kakayahan sa Paglinang ng Lipunan, a 3-day event led by the Bulacan State University Student Government – Supreme Student Council.

“Ang lakas ng ating mga institusyon at konseho ay nagmumula sa lakas ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan na ating pinaglilingkuran.”

Ngayong araw, ginugunita ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa ang buhay nina Alyssa Alano at Maureen Santuyo—mga kabataang Iskolar ng Bayan at pag-asa ng bayan na walang habas na pinaslang ng pasistang estado, kasama ang labimpito pang iba sa Negros Occidental.

Sa paggunita ng Filipino Youth Day ngayong ika-19 ng Hunyo, higit na binibigyang-diin ang halimbawa nina Alyssa at Maureen—mga kabataang hanggang sa kanilang huling hininga ay piniling ialay ang kanilang talino, lakas, at panahon sa paglilingkod sa sambayanang patuloy na dumaranas ng pang-aapi at pagsasamantala.

Hindi kailanman magtatagumpay ang propaganda ng estado sa pagsikil sa diwang palaban ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan. Sa kabila ng mga pahayag ng National Youth Commission (NYC) na naglalaman ng mga mapanlinlang na salaysay hinggil sa pagpaslang sa mga kabataang Iskolar, nananatiling matatag ang paninindigan ng mahigit 65,000 Iskolar ng Bayan sa buong University of the Philippines.

Naninindigan ang Opisina ng Rehente ng mga Mag-aaral ng UP na hindi kailanman mali ang pasya ng mga kabataang tumungo sa kanayunan upang paglingkuran ang sambayanan. Ang pananagutan sa pagpaslang kina Alyssa, Maureen, at sa iba pang biktima ay nasa estado at sa pasistang rehimeng US-Marcos Jr., na patuloy na gumagamit ng karahasan upang supilin at patahimikin ang mga kabataang nagsusulong ng tunay na pagbabago sa lipunan.

| The UP Office of the Student Regent invites all student councils and student leaders in the UP community to take part in this series of discussions, trainings, and workshops as we continue to build stronger student movement and leadership.

In preparation for the upcoming 61st General Assembly of Student Councils (GASC) and the 50th KASAMA sa UP National Congress, the Lean Alejandro Leadership Program (LALP) is once again opening its doors to student councils and student leaders across the UP System.

As part of the continuing effort to strengthen the knowledge, capacity, and commitment of genuine student representation, the LALP will serve as a space for collective learning on democratic rights, student leadership, negotiations, movement history, mass campaigns, and digital organizing.

| The UP Office of the Student Regent releases the official calendar for the 43rd Student Regent Selection Process.

Following the conclusion of the nomination and acceptance period, the selection process now proceeds to the acceptance period and the succeeding college-level and university-level deliberations, culminating in the 61st General Assembly of Student Councils (GASC), where the next UP Student Regent will be selected.

All Iskolars ng Bayan, student councils, publications, organizations, and sectors across the UP System, participate engage throughout the selection process!

: On May 26, 2026, the UP Office of the Student Regent, KASAMA sa UP, UP Solidaridad, the UPLB University Student Council, and student leaders met with the UPLB administration to discuss pressing issues affecting the student body and strengthen institutional mechanisms for student representation.

The consultation forms part of the Office of the Student Regent's continuing efforts to ensure that student concerns are directly represented in university decision-making processes.

The search process for the UP Student Regent has three stages: college-wide deliberations, university-wide deliberations, and systemwide deliberations. In all these processes, the respective nominees will undergo careful deliberations with the respective college and/or university search committees.

After these deliberations, only the nominees endorsed by the UP unit (Autonomous or Regional) will proceed to the final stage of selection at the convention of the General Assembly of Student Councils, which will take place from August 6 to 8 at UP Mindanao, where the final order of nominees will be determined.

The SR is the lone student representative in the UP Board of Regents. It is their responsibility to heed and understand the issues and demands of the studentry in order to be effective representation in the Board and mount systemwide campaigns.

TINGNAN: Nakiisa ang UP Office of the Student Regent sa malawak na hanay ng mga kabataan at estudyante na tumungo sa House of Representatives noong Hunyo 2, 2026 upang irehistro ang mga kampanya para sa edukasyon at laban sa korapsyon.

Tinalakay ng mga kabataan sa Grand Youth Trooping ang mga isyung kinakaharap ng sistema ng edukasyon tulad ng kakulangan sa pondo at pagtaas ng singil sa matrikula at iba pang bayarin.

Tinalakay rin ang usapin ng proseso ng pagpapatalsik kay VP Sara Duterte matapos maipasa ng Kamara sa Senado ang articles of impeachment nitong nagdaang buwan.

Sa parehong araw, inihain ni Cong. Renee Co kasama ang mga mambabatas ng Makabayan Bloc ang mga sumusunod na house bills: DASURV Bill (refiling of HB 212), Democratic Learning Spaces Usage Bill, Alternative Classroom Experience Bill, Safe Schools and Universities Bill.

Naghain din sila ng mga resolusyon sa Kamara ukol sa kaligtasan at karapatan ng mga estudyante, BPO worker, bilanggong politikal, at manggagawa. Kabilang sa mga ito ang resolution ukol sa panreredtag ng PNP Cateel sa mga lider-aktibista sa Davao nitong nagdaang linggo.

Pahayag ng UP Office of the Student Regent hinggil sa panghaharas ng kapulisan sa mga miyembro ng komunidad ng UP Mindanao at iba pang mga organisador sa Timog Mindanao

Nitong Mayo 27, inilathala ng PNP Cateel Municipal Police Station sa isang Facebook post ang malisosyong listahan ng 14 na “active wanted persons,” kabilang sina UP Mindanao USC Chairperson Lara Felescoso, dating UP Mindanao USC Vice Chairperson Cobbie Jan Canda, dating KASAMA sa UP Vice Chairperson for Mindanao Fauzhea Guiani, at iba pang mga miyembro ng komunidad ng UP Mindanao.

Mariing kinukundena ng UP Office of the Student Regent ang nangyaring pananakot ng PNP sa mga nasabing indibidwal at iba pang mga progresibong organisasyon. Walang anumang kaso o arrest warrant ang nakahain sa mga nakalistang indibidwal. Hindi simpleng pagkakamali lamang ang paglalathala ng nasabing listahan dahil mahaba na ang kasaysayan ng pananakot at redtagging ng PNP at iba pang mga ahensya ng estado. Inilalagay ng listahang ito sa kapahakaman ang mga nakatalang indibidwal na wala namang ibang ninais kundi isulong ang karapatan at kagalingan ng mamamayan.

Malinaw na malinaw ang paglalabas ng listahang ito ay bahagi ng mas malawak na programa ng estado para sa panunupil at pamamasista sa mamamayan. Nakikiisa ang UP Office of the Student Regent sa panawagang ibasura ang NTF-Elcac at singilin si Bongbong Marcos para sa pagpapatuloy at pagpapaigting ng programang panunupil ng gubyerno sa balangkas ng National Action Plan for Unity, Peace, and Development (NAP-UPD). Dapat ilaan sa mga batayang serbisyong panlipunan ang pondong ibinubuhos ng administrasyong Marcos sa korapsyon at pamamasismo.

Hindi masama ang tumindig at lumaban. Hindi kailanman basta-basta binigay ng estado ang pangangailangan ng mamamayan nang walang anumang laban. Tanging sa pamamagitan lamang ng sama-samang pakikibaka ng mamamayan natin makakamit at maitataguyod ang ating mga karapatan. Sa gitna ng lumalalang krisis pampulitika at pang-ekonomya, at tumitinting pasismo ng estado, nararapat lamang na higit pang pag-alabin ang ating laban para baliktarin ang bulok na sistemang ugat ng ating kahirapan.
