𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄?

In general terms, love is often understood as emotion, affection, or attraction—a feeling that arises in response to how someone makes us feel. Human love is frequently conditional, shaped by behavior, reciprocity, benefit, or personal satisfaction. Because it is feeling-based, it can fluctuate, weaken, or even disappear when circumstances change.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16

The love described here is fundamentally different:
• Initiating love — God loved first, before the world responded.
• Sacrificial love — Love is demonstrated through giving, not feeling.
• Universal in scope — “The world” includes the undeserving and resistant.
• Purpose-driven — The goal is salvation and life, not mere affection.

Biblical love (Greek agapē) is defined not by emotion but by self-giving action for another’s ultimate good, even at great personal cost.

• Human love often says: “I love you because…”
• God’s love in John 3:16 says: “I love you, therefore I give.”

✅Life Lesson

True love is measured by what one is willing to give, not just what one feels. When love is modeled after God’s love—sacrificial, purposeful, and unconditional—it transforms relationships and reflects God’s character. Loving like this requires commitment, humility, and grace, but it leads to life, both for the giver and the receiver.
