LOOK: UP Alumni Engineers congratulates and reaffirms support for UP Diliman College of Engineering during 116th anniversary celebration
The UP Alumni Engineers, Inc. (UPAE) joins and supports the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Engineering in celebrating the Collegeโs 116th founding anniversary, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to support the College, its students, graduates, faculty, staff, and wider engineering community.
During the Collegeโs Araw ng Parangal 2026, UPAE was recognized as one of the Collegeโs constant and endearing partners, not only in the anniversary celebration but also in the broader mission of advancing engineering education, service, and alumni engagement.
Representing UPAE on behalf of its President Engr. Vic Ahorro, Engr. Ildefonso โDelziโ E. Banzali, Vice President for Internal Affairs, congratulated the UP Diliman College of Engineering for reaching another milestone.
โWe congratulate the UP Diliman College of Engineering on its 116th anniversary... UPAE pledges to continue supporting the College and the University.โ
For UPAE, the recognition was both an honor and a reminder of its continuing responsibility to serve as a bridge between the College and its alumni. Engr. Banzali emphasized that the organization hopes to become more inclusive and to encourage more graduates of the College to take part in alumni work.
He noted that while the College has produced generations of engineers who have contributed to industry, government, academe, and public service, only a small percentage of alumni are currently active members of UPAE.
โOne of our goals is to be more inclusive and to encourage more graduates of the College to actively join the alumni organization.โ
He added that alumni involvement is not only a way of giving back, but also a meaningful way of staying connected to the College and to fellow engineers. โIt is a very rewarding experience,โhe said, referring to the work of supporting the College, the University, and future generations of engineers.
The recognition of UPAE during the anniversary program highlighted the important role of alumni in sustaining the Collegeโs mission. Through scholarships, professional networks, institutional support, mentoring, and participation in College initiatives, UPAE continues to help strengthen the connection between past and present members of the UP engineering community.
As the UP Diliman College of Engineering marks 116 years of service, UPAE renews its call for more alumni to come home, take part, and contribute to the continuing work of building a stronger, more connected, and more responsive engineering community.
