Bringing Educational Opportunities Closer to Every ka-MIMAtROPA!
The CHED-UniFAST MIMAROPA Regional Secretariat successfully conducted the Campus-Based UAQTEA Orientation, Project PEPA (Patuloy na Edukasyon, Patuloy na Pag-Ahon) Information Caravan, LBP Bank Account Roll-out, and UAQTEA Success Stories Documentation at Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) – Lubang Campus.
Despite the distance and challenges of reaching the island municipality of Lubang, the activity served as a meaningful opportunity to connect with continuing beneficiaries, aspiring college students, and 4Ps senior high school completers. Through informative discussions on Republic Act No. 10931 and various educational assistance programs, participants gained valuable insights on how government support can help them pursue and complete higher education.
One of the highlights of the activity was the documentation of the inspiring educational journey of Antonio G. Abrigo Jr., a Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grantee. His story serves as a testament to the transformative impact of government educational assistance and inspires other students to continue striving toward their academic dreams despite life's challenges.
The CHED-UniFAST MIMAROPA family extends its sincerest gratitude to Dr. Elbert C. Edaniol, President of Occidental Mindoro State College, for his steadfast support and commitment to expanding access to quality higher education for students across Occidental Mindoro. His leadership and dedication greatly contributed to the success of this initiative.
We also express our heartfelt appreciation to the entire OMSC Lubang Campus Family, headed by Campus Director, Dr. Miguel Elausa for their warm welcome, outstanding hospitality, and invaluable partnership in making this activity possible. Your unwavering support and commitment to student development continue to create opportunities and transform lives through education.
Together, we continue to promote access to quality tertiary education and empower more Filipino students to achieve a brighter future.

Congratulations to Romblon State University for the successful roll-out of the Pag-ibig project!
Balancing career, academics, and family shouldn't be a solo battle.
Recognizing this critical challenge, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in partnership with 81 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the country, simultaneously launched Project PAG-IBIG (Parents’ Access to Growth through Inclusive, Balanced, and Innovative Guidance) on June 3, 2026, with the national kickoff hosted by Romblon State University.
This initiative aims to transform child-minding facilities and laboratories within SUCs into community-accessible childcare centers that can support solo parents, working parents, students, and other stakeholders who require dependable childcare services.
CHED Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis commended the nationwide rollout, emphasizing that the project transcends basic infrastructure. "This is more than just the opening of facilities; it is the realization of a vision—it recognizes that education thrives where families are empowered, communities are strengthened, and every learner is given the opportunity to succeed."
