Interested to know more about comics?
We have invited a special guest to share his expertise in the field.
Our guest speaker, Wilson Tortosa graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and began as an illustrator for David Campiti's Glass House Graphics, an international animation and comics art studio based in Florida, USA. His early work includes penciling for various US publishers like Avatar Press, CHAOS! Comics, Sirius, and Dynamite Entertainment eventually did interior pages for the comic book revival of Battle of the Planets with Alex Ross and Top Cow Productions. He continued working for Top Cow on titles like Tomb Raider and City of Heroes. Wilson has also been involved with Glass House Graphics' Comics Creation Seminar that teaches the ins and outs of the US comic business for artists and writers from 2001 to 2006. From comic book pages and covers to mangas, his works span various art styles in both traditional and digital mediums. He also has done works for book illustrations, websites, toys, video games and trading cards.

CIITeens, here's our first artist talk!
Our invited resource speaker, Mark Salvatus builds engagement with a wide range of media, including objects, photography, painting, video, installation, and action that generate different energies, meanings, and experiences.
His work has been shown in a number of international group exhibitions, including Asian Art Biennale, Taitung, 2nd Lahore Biennale, Sharjah Biennial 14, MMCA Seoul, Philippine Pavilion, Venice Architecture Biennale, SONSBEEK International, Mori Art Museum, Jakarta Biennale, Asia Society, New York, Guangzhou Triennale and 3rd Singapore Biennale. He had solo shows at Vargas Museum and Filipiniana Research Center, Ateneo Art Gallery, La Trobe Art Institute among others. He is currently part of the traveling exhibition Notes For Tomorrow (2021-2025) organized by Independent Curators International (ICI).
Salvatus studied Advertising at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila and attended residencies in ACC-Rijksakademie (2017-18), IASPIS Umea (2014) and Koganecho Bazaar (2011). In 2016 he co-founded Load na Dito with Mayumi Hirano, an artistic and research project based in Quezon City.
