Sea the day and save the (sea) turtles! Sksksk ๐ข
Itโs World Sea Turtle Day, everybody! ๐ข๐
Not to be confused with World Turtle Day celebrated on May 23rd, this day is all for the conservation, biology, and protection of our sea turtles! We dedicate June 16th to emphasize the struggles these marine marvels face โน๏ธ. From losing their homes from habitat destruction ๐ท to dwindling in numbers due to commercial fishing ๐งโ๐คโ๐ง, we recognize these severe global threats by countering with our conservation efforts ๐.
A fun fact about this day is that it honors the birthday of Dr. Archie Carr! ๐ Fondly named as the "Father of Sea Turtle Biology," this day also honors his conservation efforts that founded the Sea Turtle Conservancy ๐ฅณ.
Letโs continue Dr. Carrโs mission in protecting our shelled friends ๐. We can start with joining in beach cleanups ๐๏ธ, learning from campaigns and educational materials ๐, and respecting sea turtle nesting grounds ๐ฅ!
Their shells may be hard to crack, but theyโre still softies on the inside! โฃ๏ธAccess their website here:

We tend to fear mistakes, to avoid disorder, and to seek control. Yet some of humanityโs greatest discoveries, from penicillin to the microwave, emerged not from flawless procedures, but from these accidents, interruptions, or unexpected turns we call โmistakesโ.
What if we think that chaos is not the opposite of progress? Understand and learn how to see serendipitous events come about in disorder by reading this very ordered article:

Nature is no longer something that exists beyond us. From urban wildlife and pollinator patches, to coral bleaching and altered migration patterns, human activity seems to reshape ecosystems in ways both visible and unseen. As ecological boundaries appear to blur, the question is now about the role we play in that transformation.

Water we celebrating? ๐ The ocean turns even the simplest waves into something beautiful, and that beauty is worth protecting. ๐
Celebrated every June 8, World Oceans Day serves as a global reminder of the importance of protecting and preserving our oceans ๐ฆ. It encourages individuals and communities to become more aware of the impact human activities have on marine ecosystems and to take part in efforts that support cleaner and healthier seas for future generations. ๐
The ocean has always been more than just waterโitโs life, movement, and home to countless species beneath every wave ๐ฌ. It feeds communities ๐ฃ, regulates the climate โ
๏ธ, and connects people across the world ๐, yet it continues to face threats from pollution, climate change, and environmental neglect โ ๏ธ. What once seemed endless and untouchable now calls for greater care and responsibility.
The ocean gives more than we often realize, from the air we breathe to the resources that sustain everyday life. Despite its vastness, it remains vulnerable to the choices people make each day. ๐
Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization focused solely on ocean conservation and its mission is to protect and restore our oceans. Help Oceana Philippines continue its preservation efforts for our oceans by being a wavemaker:

To tackle viral related issues, RA 12290 (2026) was enacted, institutionalizing the Viral Institute Of The Philippines (VIP). At the height of COVID-19, accessibility to vaccines were limited, leading to many diseased Filipinos. VIP can mitigate losses through local research on viruses for immediate and accessible treatment in the country.
Youโll be a VIP too, of course, once you read about this institution right below:
