In light of the heavy rains and strong winds caused by Super Typhoon , the UP Subol Society Diliman Chapter together with the UPD University Student Council is conducting a sensing for those affected by the inclement weather conditions and is in need of help.

📚 𝗣𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗡𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠𝗘 | Limatá: Dismantling Unfreedoms Through Education ⛓️‍💥✍️

Knowledge through education is often described as the one thing no one can take away from you. It is both a weapon and a shield, one that empowers the mind to think critically, to act with compassion and to recognize what is just. It builds one’s capabilities and opens doors of opportunity, but most importantly, it paves the path toward dismantling the unfreedoms that have long held societies captive — poverty, tyranny, and social deprivation — that most nations suffers from.

However, despite this truth, education itself stands at the edge of crisis. Plummeting literacy rates, declining learning outcomes and widening inequalities reveal how unfreedom persists even in the very system that should abolish it. The Philippines remains one of the most affected, with many students struggling to access quality education.

In Pangasinan, the scarcity of educators and the lack of educational support have led to rising drop-out rates and declining academic performance. These challenges mirror a national crisis, one that reflects how systemic neglect can deny children not just learning, but the very chance to dream. Addressing this means returning to the core of education: inclusion, equity, and community.

Thus, UP Subol Society is ready for a call to abolish these unfreedoms, to advance through life, through education. It will address issues and inequalities that students face that hinder them from achieving inclusive development. It recognizes the importance of implementing the use of different languages in the Philippines in the context of education. In Pangasinan, the majority of the spoken languages are Pangasinan and Ilocano, which also reflects their knowledge and lived experience that is embedded in their respective languages. This shows the significance of language in learning and understanding concepts and lessons.

Padunungan 2026 stands as a commitment to build communities that nurture, to create spaces that empower, and to raise a generation of Filipinos who are not only free, but also ingrained with the need to give back to the community.

At the end of the day, it is only through education can freedom truly begin to answer.

𝙐𝙋 𝙎𝙐𝘽𝙊𝙇 𝙎𝙊𝘾𝙄𝙀𝙏𝙔 𝘿𝙄𝙇𝙄𝙈𝘼𝙉 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝙄𝙎 𝘽𝘼𝘾𝙆! 💙

Gone are the days of quiescence, as 𝗨𝗣 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 once again springs forth from its years of inactivity. Like bud that bloomed after the rain, we return, this October 2025 — as 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗣 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻.

This marks the official return of UP Subol Society, a 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 for the students hailing from Pangasinan. This is the year we rebuild and recharge — for continuous years of activities driven with passion and solidarity.

For many of us, life at UP Diliman means being far from home. That’s why we’re rebuilding 𝗨𝗣 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 - 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿. A space for Pangasinenses to connect, share their stories, celebrate culture, and create a 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚.

The UP Subol Society (UPSS) is a non-stock, non-profit student organization of Pangasinan students at the University of the Philippines. Founded on the principle of service to the province and its people, the organization takes its name from the word 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗼𝗹, meaning spring. Just as a spring flows outward yet remains tied to its source, UPSS seeks to carry knowledge, solidarity, and service back to Pangasinan, while fostering unity and pride among its members.

This sensing form will help us gauge interest in the revival of the organization. Whether you’re a freshman still finding your place, or an upperclassman longing for a taste of home, this is your chance to play a part in bringing Subol back to life.

This is more than just joining an org–it’s about rebuilding a family.

We have exceeded our target fund for the three schools we initially planned to support! Because of your generosity, we have decided to increase the number of our school beneficiaries. 🥰
