[Guidelines for Enlistment of Math Subjects - Midyear 2026]

The general registration for the Midyear 2026 will be held from June 15-16, 2026.

Please take note of the following guidelines for the enlistment of math subjects:

1. THERE WILL BE NO TEACHER'S PREROG. Emails sent directly to teachers and other officers/staff of IMath pertaining to requests for slots will NOT be entertained.

2. Enlistment of math subjects for all students is through the waitlist module of the CRS. There are NO alternate ways to secure slots.

3. Slots will NOT be granted if CRS has blocked your enlistment. This can happen when:

- You are tagged as Ineligible. Please settle your accountabilities first.
- You came from LOA/AWOL and have not been readmitted. Please process your readmission first.
- Your enlistment status is Locked. Please unlock it first or finish the registration until your status is Paid.

4. Waitlisting for math subjects is open at any time except between 10:00 AM and 12:00 NN, and between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM each day. The institute will process waitlists during these specified times.

5. Students who wish to enlist in math subjects that are listed as required in the midyear term in their degree programs will be given priority.

6. Cancellation of math subjects is done either by:

- contacting your program adviser; or
- writing an email to [email protected] using your UP email account (available only during registration period).

The Institute of Mathematics proudly congratulates DR. RUSSELLE H. GUADALUPE for being awarded the 2026 Outstanding PhD Graduate by the Mathematical Society of the Philippines during its Annual Convention last June 5, 2026.

Dr. Guadalupe was recognized for his outstanding academic achievements, his dissertation Modularity and Arithmetic of Certain q-Continuous Functions, his high-quality research at the intersection of number theory and geometry, and his excellent publication record. He was also recognized for his active contributions and dedicated service to the mathematical community.

We celebrate this remarkable achievement and extend our best wishes to Dr. Guadalupe for continued success in his research and academic endeavors.

MINOR PROGRAM IN MATHEMATICAL FOUNDATIONS AND METHODS

The application for the Minor Program in Mathematical Foundations and Methods is now open! The program may only be taken by students who are enrolled in degree programs with at least 18 units of free electives. The deadline of submission of the application form is on 03 July 2026 (Friday).

WHO MAY ENROLL IN THE PROGRAM?
This program is open to undergraduate students who are enrolled in degree programs with at least 18 units of free electives in their curriculum.

"Recognised with the 2024 NSTW Outstanding Research and Development Award, Reyes V was honored for his mathematical modeling of optimal contraception dosing strategies to improve reproductive health. Reyes V was also named the 2025 National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Achievement Awardee for Mathematical Sciences."
