[UP TFA ACLE 2025]

Last February 24, 2026, UP TFA participated in ACLE 2026, in which various university organizations held alternative learning opportunities that students could take part in, no matter their field of study.🧐📚

For UP TFA, the discussion was about 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, with 𝗔𝗿. 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗼 𝗝𝘂𝗻 𝗚𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗝𝗿. from the UP College of Architecture. 🚶🏘

🤝 Community-Led Approach towards Sustainability in Architecture 🌱

Sustainable architecture is often discussed in terms of technology, materials, or performance. But many of the most resilient and environmentally-responsible architecture are shaped not just by designers, but by the people who live in them. A community-led approach places residents at the center of decision-making, and when communities are involved, sustainability becomes grounded in everyday practices: conserving resources, adapting to climate risks, and maintaining shared spaces.

Community participation turns sustainability into something shared and lived, rather than something imposed. When designers work alongside residents, spaces become rooted in everyday experiences and local knowledge. The result is architecture that feels more connected to its place — environmentally responsible, socially inclusive, and shaped by the people who call it home.

We're excited to tell you about one of our upcoming projects 👀 We are partnering with TAO-Pilipinas, Inc to help the Doña Imelda Housing community develop a proposed people's housing plan 🏘️

Our first site visit will be on April 11 (Sat), coinciding with Halina't Maglikha 2026. Our second, the planning workshop, will be on April 18 (Sat). Doña Imelda is within 8 minutes walk from V Mapa and J Ruiz LRT-2 stations.

International and National Women's Month 2026!

As we look back in TFA's 40-year history, we celebrate the women of all kinds that played a huge part in our org's development.

Women had an important role in green org's founding years, and as they graduate, it is TFA alumni that founded the women-led organization TAO-Pilipinas, a continuing partner of our org today. Today, many women, whether they call themselves TFAmily or TFAer, continue TFA's brand of service in their respective fields.

We celebrate and say our thanks to the women -- applicant, member, alumni, or partner -- who inspire and lead us with passion, dedication, and love in coloring beyond the lines, of an inclusive future where everyone takes part in building an environment that builds people.

A few weeks ago, TFA was visited by it's one and only founder, Sir Clifford Espinosa, along with Prof Gines! 💚🏡

Fun chats, lessons, and histories were exchanged! 🤗🐜 A truly memorable and unforgettable moment which strengthened Tfam's bond and filled them more with passion to serve the people🤝🫂

The event concluded with a simple nostalgic kantahan session and produced a group of individuals driven more than ever to give back to the country!
