[DChE 1st Alumni Focus Group Discussion]

On June 6, 2026, the Department of Chemical Engineering hosted its 1st Alumni Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at the Chemical Engineering Building, University of the Philippines Diliman. With the goal of ensuring relevance of the UPD BS ChE Curriculum to industry needs, the FGD allowed us to tap into insights and perspectives of 25 alumni from various industry sectors. The participants were led on a short building tour of our teaching building and pilot plant, followed by a networking lunch before the discussion proper.

The discussion was filled with insights on how the Department can better prepare our graduates, aligning the curriculum and program with technical competencies, industry skills, research and innovation capabilities, and improving the objectives of our degree program.

We hope to connect with more of our alumni as we gather valuable perspectives on improving the quality of our graduates and degree programs.

The UP DChE Green Materials Laboratory is now accepting applications for 𝘁𝘄𝗼 (𝟮) 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 for 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands on research experience in the development of 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 under the guidance of faculty and researchers from the Green Materials Laboratory.
