The PSHS NAA Salinaw Team is elated to share the commendations from the Project Lead of the Review of the Philippine STI Foresight Strategic Plan called "Pagtanaw 2050".
β
βFormer DOST Secretary Fortunato "Boy" De La PeΓ±a says, "My overall impression is that Salinaw comes in very strong in the area of strategic and visioning recommendations and on cross-cutting systems. This will help a lot in advocating for policy reforms."
β
β"The Salinaw should really target the people who will be there in power. It gives a review that could help us in the updating process, especially in the roadmaps for the different areas or sectors. And it will be helpful in influencing or guiding our national government agencies in developing their roadmaps..."
β
βMuch thanks goes to the PSHS Alumni, Faculty, Staff and Students who participated in the Quantitative Survey, our Alumni Leaders across many industries and sectors who lent their expert opinion in the double Delphi Inquiry, and for the PSHS System Executive Committee composed of all our 16 Campus Directors and the Office of the Executive Director for sharing their institutional and leadership insights via the FGD.
β
βCheers to the PSHS Community! π₯

On November 15, 2025, the 2025-2026 NAA Officers and Trustees were formally inducted at the OED Boardroom, led by DOST Undersecretary for Scientific and Technical Services Maridon Sahagun, with PSHS System Executive Director Ronnalee Orteza and Deputy Executive Director Shena Faith Ganela as witnesses.
Following the ceremony, an open forum sparked meaningful dialogue on the challenges facing the PSHS Systemβand how the alumni community can be part of the solution.
Chair Elaine Macatangay Morales outlined her vision- to align PSHS NAA programs with RA 12310 (Expanded PSHS System Law) and help build a stronger, future-ready PSHS community as we move toward Pisayβs 100th year.
Hereβs to a new term of leadership grounded in integrity, excellence, and serviceβfor the alumni and for the nation.

During the PSHS SystemβBoard of Trustees (BOT) meeting held on October 29, 2025, Engr. Elaine M. Morales, representing the PSHS National Alumni Association (NAA), renewed her oath of office as a continuing member of the BOT. The virtual oath-taking, administered by the DOST Secretary and PSHS Board Chair Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr., was attended by the other members of the Board.
Now entering a new 2025β2026 term, Engr. Morales commits to align the PSHS National Alumni Association (NAA) with the goals of the Expanded PSHS System Law (RA 12310). She emphasized that the lawβs vision of a stronger, more inclusive, and future-ready PSHS network calls for the alumni association to evolve in step with the Systemβs growth.
βAs an alumni organization, we must also evolve,β Morales said. βTrue to our purpose that is to serve the Nation, Alma Mater, and Alumni. We aim to be a more integrated partner of the PSHS System, working closely with the OED and campuses to strengthen Pisay culture and values.β
Her focus on the next term includes enhancing and institutionalizing alumni tracking and engagement, and mobilizing alumni expertise to support research, innovation, and career mentoring. The PSHS-NAA will also sustain its wellness and care programs for the leadership, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
One of the most notable initiatives supported by Engr. Morales and the NAA are the Telecounseling and Teletherapy Program, part of the PSHS Systemβs mental health and wellness efforts for students across its 16 campuses. This initiative (supported by the PSHS-NAA and specific alumni batches as legacy projects) provides vital mental health support to the Pisay community, especially in times of heightened need. Students and parents can access the services through their respective Campus Guidance and Counseling Units.
