In celebration of National ICT Month 2025 and its theme โWalang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan,โ the Department of Information and Communications Technology โ ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (DICTโILCDB), in partnership with the Local Government of Valenzuela City through the Valenzuela City Academic Center of Excellence (ValACE), successfully conducted a Minecraft: Education Edition training session last June 21-22, 2025.
The event was spearheaded by Mike Kenneth Venus, along with his colleagues in Tech4ED; Jepthe Laderas and Leandro Milan.
Also present to show strong support was ILCDB Director Jimmicio S. Daoaten, while Senator Sherwin โWinโ Gatchalian graced the activity with a brief visit.
This initiative highlights DICT's commitment to making learning engaging, inclusive, and digitally empoweredโone block at a time!

๐๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ง ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ | On May 22, 2025, the Department of Information and Communications Technology - ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (DICT-ILCDB) conducted a site inspection at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) in Cabanatuan City as part of the universityโs application for a Level 4 Digital Transformation Center (DTC).
The visit aimed to assess NEUSTโs digital infrastructure, facilities, and readiness to meet the standards for DTC Level 4. Leading the inspection was Director IV Jimmicio S. Daoaten of DICT-ILCDB, joined by Engr. Ruel Fortu and Rommel Vidal of the Tech4ED-DTC Project Management Team, who provided technical evaluation and project insights.
The DICT-ILCDB team was welcomed by NEUST officials, including Dr. Marlon Torres, Chief and MIS Director; Dr. Jean Guillasper, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training; and Training Director Malou Puno.
To further strengthen institutional collaboration, the visit concluded with a courtesy call to the Cabanatuan City Local Government Unit (LGU), reinforcing local government support for NEUSTโs digital transformation journey.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology - DICT IV-A successfully conducted another series of learning sessions today, focusing on key topics designed to enhance the knowledge and competencies of our participants.
The day began with Gender Analysis Training, facilitated by Dr. Krizna Rei M. Palces, which is essential for promoting inclusive and equitable development by equipping participants with tools to assess and address gender-related issues.
This was followed by Pre-Assessment, Skills Mapping, and Learning Management System Navigation, led by Ms. Eloisa Dee Chin, which are crucial for identifying learning needs, aligning training interventions, and ensuring effective use of digital platforms.
The final session, SPARK Assessors Accreditation, was conducted by Ms. Lylle Michelle Siarez, highlighting the importance of maintaining quality and integrity in assessment processes for credible skills recognition.

Yesterday's session was energized by an inspiring opening message from our esteemed ILCDB Director, Mr. Jimmicio S. Daoaten, followed by the continuation of the Start and Improve Your Own Business program, covering key topics such as Connectivity Challenges, AI-Analytics of Sales Data, Generating SKUs and barcodes, AI Deep Research, Implementation Guides, and Individual Action Planning.
It also featured a live demonstration of artificial intelligence tools and a collaborative group activity, providing participants with practical, hands-on learning experiences.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the entire team at the International Labour Organization (ILO) for their unwavering support in making this training a reality.

In collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), todayโs session focused on 'Start and Improve Your Own Business,' delving into key topics such as the principles of AI-mainstreamed entrepreneurship training, the basics of AI services on mobile apps, marketing funnels, AI risks and mitigation measures, and AI-assisted coaching. The discussion provided valuable insights on shaping the future of business with AI.
The session aimed to empower MSMEs to embrace innovation while leading with integrity in an increasingly AI-driven world.

Last Fridayโs session empowered participants with essential skills in Basic Digital Literacy, covering Smartphone 101, Internet Access, Internet Safety, and Social Media Marketing.
