Last April 5 was indeed a blast! Congratulations to all our runners for crossing the finish line and making the event a success! We hope everyone enjoyed our games, activities, and prizes throughout the morning. 🥳

Thank you to all the participants, partners, and alumni who joined us in running for a meaningful cause! 🥹 Through your support, we continue to build a foundation of hope for children and communities. Every step taken helped fund our literacy and inquiry-based programs, enabling children to develop their critical, caring, creative and collaborative thinking skills. 🤩

It’s been 2 months, but we still can’t get over it!🥹

We started the run with fun exercises and ended it with an Easter egg hunt. What do we miss most? The random conversations with strangers who became friends, or getting our hands covered in color while coloring?

Or maybe… everything?! 😱

The UP Philosophy for Children Society deeply mourns the passing of Prof. Zosimo E. Lee, PhD, the pioneer of P4C in the Philippines.

Simply put, we would not exist without him.

For decades, Dr. Lee proved that philosophy belongs beyond university walls. He transformed it from a rigid academic discipline into a living practice of community of inquiry, dialogue, and reflection. Because of his visionary work, generations of educators and P4wC advocates were and are inspired to champion the brilliant capacity of young minds for wonder, reasonableness, and philosophical inquiry.

We carry his legacy forward.

𝐏𝟒𝐂 𝐑𝐮𝐧: 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐛𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚, 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 💙❤️💛

It began as a quiet dream within our organization and grew into something much bigger than we ever imagined. The 𝐏𝟒𝐂 𝐑𝐮𝐧 was born from a simple, heartfelt goal 💖 All of this is to show the children of Lagro that their community stands behind the cultivation of their bright minds ✨

While we initially prepared for a humble turnout, the response from the neighborhood was incredible! On the morning of the run, the path came alive with over 100 people 🤩 It was a beautiful sight to see children running alongside students, teenagers, parents, and working adults, all moving together for the same cause. We even held other activities, mainly an Easter egg hunt🐣, to make sure the day was filled with as much laughter as it was with purpose. We ensured that there was plenty of room for play for the children, the heart of our advocacy ❤️

Every registration and every step taken helped fund our literacy and inquiry-based programs. These contributions mean that kids in Lagro can continue to stay curious and sharpen their reading skills through learning initiatives right in their own community 📚🧐

To everyone who ran, volunteered, or donated: thank you for making this real! 🥹 You’ve helped us build a foundation of hope for our young communities. More importantly, we’re already looking forward to keeping that momentum going at our ongoing summer camp in Lagro 🎉📚
