A total of 133 participants taking part in the activity held in Rooms IL601 to IL603 in preparation for the upcoming licensure examination.

Among the examinees, 127 were Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED) students, while 6 participants were completers of the 18 unit Professional Teaching Certificate Course, all aiming to strengthen their readiness for the board examination.

The mock board examination was designed to provide students with a simulated testing environment similar to the actual licensure examination experience. Through this initiative, participants were given the opportunity to assess their academic preparedness, improve test-taking strategies, and identify areas that require further enhancement.

The activity challenged students to apply their knowledge, manage examination time effectively, and experience the discipline and pressure associated with taking a professional licensure examination. It also served as an avenue to build confidence and develop examination readiness.

They emphasized that initiatives such as the mock board examination play a significant role in preparing future educators—not only academically but also mentally and professionally.

Through this activity, the College of Education continues to uphold its commitment to producing competent, prepared, and future-ready educators as students move closer to achieving their goal of becoming licensed professional teachers.

Building Smarter Communities Through Evidence-Based Governance

The Quezon City Local Government, in partnership with Quezon City University (QCU) and the Barangay and Community Relations Department (BCRD), successfully held the second day of the Speaker Feliciano R. Belmonte Jr. School of Good Governance Certificate Courses on Evidence-Based Policy and Decision Making and Public Finance on June 6, 2026.

The second day featured Dr. Racidon P. Bernarte as Guest Resource Speaker, who led an engaging session on “Evidence-Based Policy and Decision-Making: Key Concepts and Framework.” The lecture emphasized the critical role of data, research, and structured analysis in crafting responsive and effective public policies at the barangay level.

Participants from barangays across Quezon City actively engaged in intensive workshop activities designed to bridge theory and practice. The workshop journey demonstrated a systematic approach to governance—transforming raw local grievances into actionable solutions. Through guided exercises, participants learned how to convert informal community complaints into clear, evidence-based problem statements, identify the most feasible and defensible policy interventions, and integrate these insights into a unified governance cycle of planning, budgeting, monitoring, and strategic communication.

This hands-on learning experience strengthened the capacity of local leaders to make informed decisions grounded in data and community realities, reinforcing Quezon City’s commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-centered governance.

The program continues to serve as a platform for empowering barangay officials and community leaders—equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and frameworks needed to drive sustainable development and deliver meaningful public service.

Through evidence, collaboration, and leadership, Quezon City moves forward—building stronger communities and a brighter future for all.

The event was warmly welcomed by Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, QCU President, who commended the students and faculty for their outstanding innovation and dedication. Dr. Atienza also praised the Capstone Turnover Ceremony as a meaningful initiative that bridges academic excellence with real-world community impact.

This year’s projects highlight the creativity, technical excellence, and social responsibility of our graduating students:

VertiSweet

Tomato Sense
A Multi-Spectral Growth Monitoring System with stage-dependent nutrient delivery, integrating sensors and automation to enhance cherry tomato cultivation while minimizing manual intervention.

Intelligent Aquaculture Monitoring System
A smart system for Nile Tilapia farming that utilizes IoT and machine learning for water quality monitoring, growth classification, and automated alerts—empowering data-driven aquaculture management.

These projects align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting:
✅ Sustainable food production
