The National University Commission on Student Elections (CSE) hereby directs all concerned student councils, organizations, and leaders to address vacancies within their respective executive and legislative positions.

Pursuant to Article VII, Section 3(I) of the 2024 Student Election Code, the process of filling vacancies, including the qualifications for aspiring officers, shall follow the provisions stated in each councilโ€™s constitution and byโ€‘laws. In the absence of such provisions, the CSE shall exercise discretion over the matter. Accordingly, all aspiring officers must meet the necessary qualifications and requirements to be deemed eligible. Should the Council or Organization choose to open applications, they are required to properly inform their respective student body of the process.

The National University Commission on Student Elections (NUโ€‘CSE) is mandated to administer, supervise, and conduct annual, fair, just, and transparent student elections to uphold the integrity of student governance and ensure the exercise of the studentsโ€™ right to suffrage.

The NUโ€‘CSE has been guided by the 2024 Student Election Code, which stipulates in Section 3, Article IV and Section 2, Article V that the termination of office shall be on June 30, 2026 at 12:00 noon;

The 2022 Student Constitution, in Section 18, Article VII, Section 8, Article VIII, and Section 6, Article XI, provides that the term of office shall end on the last Friday of the academic year, which fell on June 5, 2026;

This contradiction has caused confusion among student organizations, with several students contesting the differing stipulations. The transition of office on June 5, 2026 proved impracticable due to finals week, vacancies in student organizations, and the lack of prepared transitioning leaders, resulting in the postponement of the oath of office to June 10, 2026.

Consultations with organizations revealed that many were under the impression that the transition would occur on June 30, consistent with the Election Code, and were not prepared for an earlier date.

In every election, while the spotlight shines on the candidates and winners, it is the unwavering dedication of the people behind the scenes that ensures the entire process uphold fairness, transparency, and the voice of the student body. At this yearโ€™s Oath-Taking Ceremony 2026, we shine that spotlight on the Members of the National University Commission on Student Elections (NU CSE) โ€” the driving force behind this yearโ€™s successful and transparent student elections ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ๐Ÿ“‹.

From organizing orientations and overseeing campaigns, to ensuring every ballot was cast and counted with care โ€” your actions spoke professionalism and resilience. You upheld the core values of democracy not out of obligation, but out of a deep sense of responsibility to the student body and to the institution we all proudly call home.

To the Members of NU CSE, May you always carry this truth โ€” that real leadership is not always seen, but it is always felt. And in the quiet corners of service, you have left an impact louder than any applause.

Last June 10, 2026, the National University Commission on Student Elections concluded this yearโ€™s activities with an event formally welcoming the newly elected and appointed student leaders who will step up to serve the student body.

The Recognition ended as the Commission called Presidentโ€‘elect Denzel Sean Baclig to deliver his simple remarks. He emphasized the importance of simple acts of leadership, a promise such as showing up, and echoed the leading party S1NAG tagline, from last yearโ€™s Sulong: Muling hahakbang pasulong to this year's S1NAG: Liwanag ng progresibong bukas. He also expressed gratitude to his fellow executives and to his kapwa liderโ€‘estudyante for answering the call to lead. ๐ŸŒ…

Moreover, the ceremony was also graced virtually by Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, who wished the NUโ€‘Manila student leaders well and reminded the youth not to think small, but to embrace leadership for the betterment of the community.

May this ceremony remind our student leaders of their commitment to student welfare, and may their journey in leadership continue to grow and nurture with them. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Are you ready to see them lead? ๐Ÿ”ฅ
