Sa araw na ito, taong 1991, sa Gitnang Luzon, yumanig ang ikalawang pinakamalaki at pinakamalakas na pagsabog ng bulkan sa ika-20 siglo na binago ang buhay ng libu-libong tao. Natabunan ang buong komunidad ng mga rumagasang abo, nawalan ng kabuhayan at buhay ang karamihan, at binalot ng kadiliman ang kalangitan dahil sa pulbos na dala ng bulkan.

𝘕𝘨𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘰𝘴 𝘯𝘨 𝙙𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙢 𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘬, 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘬𝘭𝘢𝘣 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝙡𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘢.

Bagkus, upang gunitain ang pag-asa at ang mas maliwanag na bukas na sumunod, ipagbunyi ang matatatag na mga puso ng mga nakaligtas, at ipagdiwang ang walang sawang pagkakaisa ng mga Pilipino upang malampasan ang mga pagsubok, at bumangon muli nang may ngiting nakapinta sa mga mukha at magsimula muli.
