Official Statement (06/17/2026 1:50PM)
We have been made aware of the post shared by Jem Canlas regarding her experience with our music tutorial services. We take all feedback and concerns seriously, and we appreciate the opportunity to address this matter.
First and foremost, we are saddened that Ms. Canlas had an experience that led her to feel dissatisfied with our services. At Muzikaren Music Tutorial Services, we strive to provide a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students, and any concern raised by a member of our community is something we carefully review.
With respect to the refund request, we would also like to clarify the timeline of events. The refund was prepared as early as June 4, 2026. However, June 5β7 coincided with our scheduled recital activities, which required our immediate attention and coordination due to the extensive preparations made by our students and staff.
Although our Terms and Conditions clearly state that refunds are generally not issued, we made an exception in an effort to address Ms. Canlas' concerns fairly and in good faith. At no point was her refund request denied or rejected.
We requested that Ms. Canlas personally claim the refund at our studio to ensure proper verification and to protect both parties from potential misunderstandings or fraudulent transactions. She was also informed that we would revisit the matter after the completion of our recital activities.
We would also like to address concerns regarding the temporary blocking of communication between Ms. Canlas and Ms. Karen.
At the time, Ms. Karen was experiencing health concerns while simultaneously carrying the responsibilities associated with preparing for our recital events. In addition, our organization was navigating internal challenges following the unexpected resignation of a valued staff member. These circumstances created significant pressure on both Ms. Karen and the rest of our team during a critical period for our students and their families.
To prevent these challenges from affecting the successful ex*****on of our recital and to allow the matter to be addressed with the attention it deserved, a decision was made to temporarily limit direct communication until the event had concluded. This action was never intended to permanently cut off communication, avoid accountability, or disregard Ms. Canlas' concerns. Rather, it was a temporary measure taken during an exceptionally demanding period.
Following the conclusion of our recital activities, we remained prepared to continue discussions regarding her concerns and facilitate the resolution that had already been initiated. As of today, we remain ready to process the refund and discuss the matter in a respectful and professional manner.
Regarding the allegation that objects were thrown at students who were unable to keep up during lessons, we conducted an internal review and checked available CCTV footage within our studio. Based on our review, we found no evidence supporting this claim. To the best of our knowledge, such behavior has never been practiced or tolerated within our institution. While students may occasionally engage in playful interactions during sessions, we would like to clarify that no instructor, including Ms. Karen, has engaged in the conduct being alleged.
This situation has also provided an opportunity for reflection and learning within our organization. We are reviewing our processes and communication practices to ensure that concerns are addressed as effectively and promptly as possible moving forward.
We would like to thank our students, parents, and supporters for the messages, feedback, and encouragement they have shared during this time. Your trust and continued support mean a great deal to us. Our community has always been built on respect, honesty, trust, and a shared passion for music, and we remain committed to upholding those values in everything we do.
As we move forward, our focus remains on providing quality music education and fostering a positive environment for everyone who is part of the Muzikaren family. Regular operations will continue as scheduled, and announcements will continue to be communicated through our official group channels.
We remain committed to serving our students with professionalism, integrity, and care. We believe that open communication, mutual respect, and a willingness to learn from every situation are essential to maintaining a healthy and supportive community.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
