The College of Technology (COT) of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University โ Mid La Union Campus (DMMMSUโMLUC) officially received a Mitsubishi Mirage G4 from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) during a vehicle donation ceremony held on June 1, 2026, at the MMPC Training Center in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
Representing the College of Technology during the ceremony were Dr. Jake Tyrone I. Somera, Dean of the College of Technology, and Mr. Luis Abrenica, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Industrial Technology program, together with Dr. Alvin M. Malicdem, Chancellor of DMMMSUโMLUC, and Mr. Genesis Ami from the University Supply Office.
The donation highlights MMPCโs continued support for the College of Technologyโs commitment to providing quality, industry-based automotive education. The newly donated Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Automatic Transmission (AT) unit will serve as an additional training vehicle for students, enabling them to gain hands-on experience with modern automotive systems and technologies commonly used in today's automotive industry.
This donation is particularly significant as it marks the second Mitsubishi Mirage G4 entrusted to the College of Technology by MMPC. The first vehicle, donated in 2018, featured a manual transmission and has been instrumental in supporting laboratory instruction and practical training. The addition of an automatic transmission unit expands the learning opportunities available to students, allowing them to develop competencies across different vehicle transmission systems and better prepare for evolving industry demands.
Through partnerships such as this, the College of Technology continues to strengthen its automotive training facilities and bridge classroom instruction with real-world industry practices. COT expresses its sincere gratitude to MMPC for its unwavering support in advancing technical education and helping develop highly skilled and industry-ready automotive professionals. #
