DWCSJ Holds First Basic Education Faculty Meeting for SY 2026–2027
The Basic Education Department of Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) successfully conducted its First Basic Education Faculty Meeting on June 11, 2026, as part of its preparations for the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Jason Valera and gathered faculty members from the Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School departments.
Among the key topics discussed were the latest updates on the implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 10 and the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum for Grades 11 and 12. Teachers were oriented on the curriculum changes and the necessary adjustments to ensure effective implementation in the coming school year.
The faculty was also presented with the school's adopted 3-Term School Calendar for SY 2026–2027, along with updates on the new grading system and the revised policy on the selection of honors. These initiatives aim to further enhance the quality of instruction, assessment, and student recognition in the institution.
The information and policies discussed during the meeting will be cascaded to students and parents through a series of orientation programs scheduled in the coming days. These orientations will provide stakeholders with a clearer understanding of the new academic policies and curriculum developments.

DWCSJ Basic Education Teachers Participate in 21st Century Teaching and Learning Webinar
As part of its preparations for the opening of classes on June 17, 2026, the Basic Education Department of Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) conducted a half-day webinar on “Approaches, Strategies, and Techniques for 21st Century Teaching and Learning” on June 11, 2026.
The webinar aimed to equip teachers with innovative and learner-centered teaching approaches that respond to the demands of 21st-century education. Through the activity, faculty members gained valuable insights and practical strategies to enhance classroom instruction and improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
The resource speaker for the webinar was Dr. Noriel C. Navita, who shared his expertise and experiences in effective teaching methodologies, contemporary educational practices, and strategies for creating meaningful learning experiences for students.
The successful conduct of the webinar was made possible through the partnership of DWCSJ with REX Education, whose continued support contributes to the professional growth and development of educators.

DWCSJ Participates in GASTPE Regional Orientation Conference for SY 2026–2027
Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) actively participated in the GASTPE Regional Orientation Conference on the Implementation of the Educational Service Contracting (ESC), Teachers’ Salary Subsidy (TSS), and Senior High School Voucher Program for School Year 2026–2027 held on June 3, 2026 at First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH Colleges).
Representing DWCSJ in the conference were Imelda Rodriguez, Senior High School Academic Coordinator, and Toni Rose Fresnillo, Junior High School Secretary.
The orientation conference provided participating schools with important updates, guidelines, and implementation policies concerning the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) programs. Discussions focused on the proper administration of the ESC and TSS grants, as well as the Senior High School Voucher Program, ensuring compliance with current regulations and strengthening support for learners enrolled in private educational institutions.
The conference also served as a venue for school administrators and representatives to clarify procedures, share best practices, and gain a deeper understanding of program requirements for the upcoming school year.
DWCSJ's participation in the regional orientation underscores the institution’s commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of government educational assistance programs that benefit both students and teachers. Seven DWCSJ Junior High School Teachers Complete 2026 INSET at FAITH Colleges
Seven (7) Junior High School faculty members of Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) successfully completed the three-day 2026 In-Service Training (INSET) for Junior High School teachers held from June 1 to 3, 2026 at First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH Colleges).
Centered on the theme, “Tracking Learners' Progress: Strengthening and Elevating Students’ Performance of the Grade 9 and 10 Revised K-10 Curriculum,” the seminar-training equipped educators with updated knowledge, strategies, and best practices in monitoring student achievement and improving learning outcomes under the revised curriculum.
Throughout the three-day program, participants engaged in discussions and workshops focused on effective assessment, learner progress tracking, curriculum implementation, and intervention strategies designed to help students achieve academic success. The training also provided opportunities for collaboration and the sharing of innovative teaching practices among educators from different schools.
The participation of the seven DWCSJ Junior High School teachers reflects the institution’s commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence. By investing in faculty training, the school ensures that its educators remain equipped with the competencies needed to deliver quality instruction and respond to the evolving demands of basic education.
