Please be informed that due to the scheduled whole-day power interruption in the San Jose area on Friday, June 19, 2026, and considering that the school's generator set is currently undergoing repairs, classes at all levels of the Basic Education Department are hereby suspended.
To ensure continuity of learning, teachers who have assigned tasks or activities related to the Opening Block of Classes are advised to provide these to students as homework or take-home assignments.

DWCSJ Holds First Basic Education Faculty Meeting for SY 2026–2027
The Basic Education Department of Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) successfully conducted its First Basic Education Faculty Meeting on June 11, 2026, as part of its preparations for the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Jason Valera and gathered faculty members from the Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School departments.
Among the key topics discussed were the latest updates on the implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 10 and the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum for Grades 11 and 12. Teachers were oriented on the curriculum changes and the necessary adjustments to ensure effective implementation in the coming school year.
The faculty was also presented with the school's adopted 3-Term School Calendar for SY 2026–2027, along with updates on the new grading system and the revised policy on the selection of honors. These initiatives aim to further enhance the quality of instruction, assessment, and student recognition in the institution.
The information and policies discussed during the meeting will be cascaded to students and parents through a series of orientation programs scheduled in the coming days. These orientations will provide stakeholders with a clearer understanding of the new academic policies and curriculum developments.
As the opening of classes draws near, the entire Basic Education Department remains optimistic and enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead. DWCSJ Basic Education Teachers Participate in 21st Century Teaching and Learning Webinar
As part of its preparations for the opening of classes on June 17, 2026, the Basic Education Department of Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) conducted a half-day webinar on “Approaches, Strategies, and Techniques for 21st Century Teaching and Learning” on June 11, 2026.
The webinar aimed to equip teachers with innovative and learner-centered teaching approaches that respond to the demands of 21st-century education. Through the activity, faculty members gained valuable insights and practical strategies to enhance classroom instruction and improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
The resource speaker for the webinar was Dr. Noriel C. Navita, who shared his expertise and experiences in effective teaching methodologies, contemporary educational practices, and strategies for creating meaningful learning experiences for students.
The successful conduct of the webinar was made possible through the partnership of DWCSJ with REX Education, whose continued support contributes to the professional growth and development of educators.

Four DWCSJ Grade School Teachers Participate in Division Training on the Revised Grade 6 Curriculum
Four teachers from the Grade School Department of Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) actively participated in the Division Training of Teachers on the Revised Grade 6 Curriculum held from June 6 to 9, 2026, at Buenavista Elementary School in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.
The four-day training gathered Grade 6 teachers from both public and private schools across the division to equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary for the effective implementation of the revised curriculum for the incoming school year.
The training focused on curriculum updates, learning competencies, instructional planning, assessment strategies, and learner-centered approaches aligned with the Department of Education’s curriculum reforms. Participants engaged in workshops, discussions, and collaborative learning sessions designed to strengthen classroom instruction and improve learning outcomes for Grade 6 pupils.
The participation of DWCSJ teachers reflects the school's commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence. DWCSJ Grade School Launches Trial Classes for Grade 1 Learners
As part of its commitment to ensuring a smooth and positive transition to formal schooling, the Grade School Department of Divine Word College of San Jose (DWCSJ) will conduct Trial Classes for incoming Grade 1 learners from June 8 to 10, 2026.
The three-day activity is designed to help young learners become familiar with their new learning environment, meet their teachers and classmates, and gradually adjust to classroom routines before the official start of the school year. Through engaging and age-appropriate activities, pupils will gain confidence and readiness as they begin their elementary education journey.
Meanwhile, the Kindergarten Department is also set to hold its Free Trial Classes next week, providing prospective learners and parents an opportunity to experience the quality Catholic education and nurturing environment offered by DWCSJ.
Enrollment for School Year 2026–2027 remains ongoing for all levels. Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit the school and complete the enrollment process to secure their children's slots for the upcoming academic year.
The formal opening of classes is scheduled on June 17, 2026.
