Congratulations to our third year student, Daniel M. Mapanoo, for clinching 1st Runner-Up at the OBRA Design Student Competition organized and presented by the Philippine International Furniture Show (PIFS).

Daniel's entry, the Makahiya Chaise which was manufactured by Genteel Home, is a stunning testament to what emerging Filipino designers can create. Drawing inspiration from the organic forms of Kenneth Cobonpue's iconic Bloom, Yoda, and Leaf Chair, the piece features leaf-shaped wood panels elegantly inserted into a steel rod frame, reinforced with stainless steel for lasting durability.

Beautifully functional indoors or out, the Makahiya Chaise is more than furniture — it's an interactive experience that bridges nature, art, and design.
